I've seen this movie TWICE already.

I loved it so much, ya know?

I give it ****1/2 out of 5.

Fuckin' awesome movie.

Gotta love Kirsten, too. Oh and before anyone says anything, she's mine.

Thanks Jedi for the review! I'm gonna go see the film today and I can't wait.I'm the type of person who usually hates big-budget,over-hyped summer films based on comic book heroes (I hated 'Dick Tracy and all of the 'Batman' films). But when I went to go see the first 'Spider Man' movie a few years ago,I found myself acting like a kid,and enjoying it tremendously...lol....it was excellent. So I'm all excited about the sequel.

Definitely come back and share your thoughts. I tried to keep everything as free of spoilers as possible for this very reason. I don't want anyone to have the fun ruined for them!

Jedimaster, I would have to agree with you; this move kicked ASS!!!! It is probably the best big screen adaptation of a comic book to date. As a long time comic reader (28 or so years), I felt as though for 2 hours and 7 minutes I was living in the Marvel Universe. I thought that the use of Alex Ross’ art during the opening credits was a great way to re-hash the events of the first movie. Molina made Doc Ock such a sympathetic villain….

As for your thoughts that Spidey should throw more quips around, like he does in the comics... I’m hoping that part of the character’s development shows itself in the 3rd movie. I think that this movie showed that Peter wasn’t really comfortable as a hero leading a dual life. Perhaps now that he has accepted to shoulder the burden of responsibility, we’ll see him begin to loosen up.

Since #2 introduced 3 potential villains, I’d hate to see them go the way of the Batman films and have to introduce multiple characters in the next film. That could be done, but not within the confines of a 2 hour movie…..

And the best thing about this movie….. they once again found a way to have a scene with Mary Jane in a wet sundress smile

I think the way they are handling the introduction of potential villians over the course of time, rather than cramming them all into one film, is really smart. I think we'll see the rather obvious choice appear in the next film, while the other two will be saved for later (if ever. I'm not so sure we'll ever see a movie with Man-Wolf)

Lord knows that noone should ever be subjected to a Spiderman movie that include the Man-Wolf..... It's not even that they're introducing new viallains as much as it is that they're laying the groundwork if they should ever decide to go that way..... The average movie goer has no idea who Dr. Kurt Connors is, or who he might become.

EXACTLY!!! That is such a great way to go with things, rather than try to hit on EVERY single last villian Spidey's ever faced. If they never feature the Lizard in a movie, that's just dandy! It was still cool to see Doc Connors make an appearance (and likewise for John Jameson).

I think it would be cool to see Venom make an appearance. Actually, when James Cameron was vying for his spot as director, I imagined him eventually creating Venom using the same effects as the T2.

Just saw it tonight - all the good reviews are right on the money!!! One of my favorite scenes is Peter Parker's slow-mo walk as "Rain drops keep fallin' on my head" is playing. Tobey Macguire's face conveys such emotion - the movie is pretty funny, too.

Sam Raimi is the perfect director for the spidey series - everyone is perfect for their part - even Kirsten Dunst, though it took me awhile to accept her as Mary Jane. The Mary Jane in the comic books - whoa - HOTTTT...

Now, especially with this sequel, I'm loving Kirsten - and her buds!!!

Spidey rocks - and this comin' from a rare-movie goer.

One more thing - what happened to real hot dogs? I asked for a coupla 'dogs and a coke - I was informed that they only have Nathan's microwaveable hot dogs. WTF???? I wound up getting two of them and they took like an hour to cool the f**k off...

Still, all in all, a great getaway smile

IT WAS SO GOOD.

I LOVED THE TORMENT OF THE HERO.

I LOVED THE TORMENT OF THE VILLIAN.

i loved how she ran. i knew she would.

I just saw the movie last night, and it is GREAT! I like it even better than the first film. And as somebody mentioned, the best scene is the "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" sequence.I can't explain why,but that scene made me feel really good...lol...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention...Kirsten Dunst is wonderful, isn't she? I love every scene that she appears in.I also like the way their love story (Peter and Mary) is a major part of the film. One critic says that this film is basically a love story with the occasional action sequences thrown in.

I won't say too much (I'll let others' reviews do the talking) but I loved every second of it. I see a lot of movies, and so far this year, this is the best. For a long time, Superman II was my favorite comic book movie, but this has taken its place. Very entertaining.

It's amazing, but I was thinking the same thing! Superman II was my favorite, but I think this one has dethroned it. biggrin

Yeah, it's sad to have to make room on the Superman II throne, but I must confess -- it is a superior film. Granted, I'm an emotional person, but I cried at least two times during this movie. Not necessarily because it was sad, devastating, emotional, etc. (though it did have those moments), but just because it was so brilliant.
