Indeed. Surely us as humans would be better off if we could learn to get along with one another, making our differences the basis for cooperation instead of conflict. But exactly how to turn 'peace on earth, goodwill to all' from a birthday card, appreciation thread or whatever into an ongoing reality remains a far more complex issue. In fact, disagreement over the 'best' way to bring about peace and goodwill all too often becomes, ironically, a cause of war and ill will.
