Update: Bugfixes & Changes (Updated 4/28)

{{{Been busy fixing bugs, adding features, and in general, tweaking the site...}}} A short list of changes:

Auto-login cookie is back! To turn it on or off, go to Your Account (under 'Extras', and select 'Auto-login' from the left hand-side...)
The Netherlands, Netherlands-Antilles, New Zealand, and some other 'N' countries I had "lost" are now available on registration page.
Profile links are now popups (in most, but not all, places)
Forum avatars (people's pictures) now also show on the profile pages
New orgNotes notification works in chat now
You can edit your posts, even on news item comments.
Fixed news item search from 'older items' page
WebTV users can now register (and navigate, albeit with some difficulty)
Street address is now optional during registration
"Newest topics" section on homepage under 'Hot Topics'
"Upcoming Events" section on homepage expanded to 20 items
Links, clubs, and FAQs updated with input from visitors
When multiple people are timed-out on the chat, it now displays them all on a single line
Number of people currently in the chat displayed on homepage
...and tons of behind-the-scenes changes!

Chat now has a buncha more options: auto-refresh, font size changes, bigger input box, PM resets to whole room automatically, old-style private-message selection...
Fixed a few minor bugs.

Update (2/22/02):

Chat now has even MORE options, including "use more screen space" and "old-school" layout (black background...). Also, the "ignore box" functionality is back, and the 'radio-button-next-to-person-selects-private' thing from the old site, has returned. I'm through making chat changes for a while, except for maybe a few small bugfixes I know about.

Update (2/23/02):

Added two new forums, "Celebration 2002" and "Concerts". Let the planning and reports begin!

Update (2/27/02):

Poster's name in forums now opens profile in new window. Same thing in various other places on the site.
You can now 'peek' at who's in the chat by clicking the "X people are chatting" link on the homepage, below the enter-your-handle box
Updated the prince.org site FAQ with info on avatars, browser version, etc.
Fixed a bug where you couldn't edit your own posts sometimes/most of the time.

Update (3/1/02):

HTML (images, broken tables, etc.) no longer allowed in messages. This was supposed to be like this all along, but I screwed up originally.[/i]
List users function in chat now looks OK even with the 'oldschool' preference selected
Relaxed restriction on "duplicate" replies. This was causing problems for some people who browsed in multiple open windows.
Added wording on profile, forum settings "saved" page to explain that avatars and profile images need to be approved before they're publicly visible.

Update (3/2/02):

Fixed bug: if in chat, using "more screen area for chat", and got a new orgnote, the link wouldn't show up. It does now.
The chat main text window now uses 100% of your screen width... if you run hi-res, this should be a nice plus for you.
As a side benefit, the screen redraw should be slightly faster for folks on slower connections in the chat.

Update (3/3/02):

Chat messages can now be up to 1500 characters long, instead of only 250.
The 'edit' link should be back for your own posts, finally.
The name of the person who posted the last reply on a thread is now displayed on the thread overview, also the icon that links to the newest post should now work.

Update (3/6/02):

New chat emoticon (:pimp:does it)
Fixed the 250-char chat msf limit even for single-line entry mode.
New chat command: "/me (saying)" (without quotes or parens) shows your "emotion" (try it!)
The "new" folder icons should actually start working in the forums! Yay!

Update (3/16/02):

When someone posts a new topic, a message about it is entered in the chat.
Lots more space in your profile for the 'fave other artists', 'fave other songs', 'hobbies', 'fave albums' fields.
Finally fixed the horizontal-bar-thingy in the chat. Should always divide old from new messages correctly now.

Update (4/12/02):

When responding to a forum post, you can see entire thread below (in reverse order) for reference
WebTV'ers should be able to navigate more easily now... they won't get the javascript popups, instead just text links. Also, I think I fixed the WebTVers-can't-register bug for good.
MAJOR FEATURE ADDITION: full-text search of almost all content on the site! The 'home' link on the menubar is now a popup with 'search' as an option. Try it! (Also, search boxes added to the PPML page, the forums overview page, and the thread overview page!)
You can select whether you'd like the list of threads in a forum to be displayed sorted by first OR last post date.
Lots of small chat tweaks

Update (4/18/02):

Added about 8 new emoticons. Will update the help page shortly... until then, ask folks in the chat--they know how to make them
MAJOR FEATURE ADDITION: Shop the org! Check out the 'shop' menu above...
MSN messenger id's not showing up in profile pages, fixed.

Update (4/28/02):

New user waiting period: can't post for first 5 days of membership.
Thread limits on a per-user basis...
View list of "all posts by a user" link now available from each user's profile page
Profiles now display the date of joining prince.org
