Black Album: Q for the die-hard collectors

Ok, it took some time but finally it happened. Please have a look at this ebay item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB...4000281103

It's the "orginal (1987) Black Album in orange vinyl". At least, that's what the seller says. Too be honest, I don't believe at all it's a genuine item.

I remember years ago, I found exactly this version at a local record store. You know, I was living VERY near to the manufacturing plant where the originals leaked from (Record Service Alsdorf). Alsdorf is only about 12 km away from my then hometown. The vinyl is not marbled at all (as 1994's version is) but thoroughly orange - a very intense colour tone. I think there even was another copy in green. Made your eyes ache. Really.

The label was made exactly to look like the original (maybe they even got some original labels intended for use on the withdrawn vinyl right from the plant - illegally of course). I don't remember what the run-out groove/matrix number said.

So... is there really such a GENUINE item around? If so, I'm gonna jump right out of the window because I didn't buy it then. I took it for granted it's a fake.

Come on, you die-hards... lemme know!

As far as I am aware, there were no coloured vinyl versions produced of the 1987 LP. The photograph is (perhaps conveniently) unable to provide sufficient detail to enable close examination.

Although the label's general layout looks similar to the 1987 pressing, as opposed to the 1994 issue, from what I can see, it differs from the 1987 German original vinyl label as follows:

1. If it is side 1, then the tracklisting layout indent is too small
2. If it is side 2, then there are timings missing from the tracklisting

The only official coloured promo versions of which I am aware were white, grey or peach marble, of US origin, and released in 1994.

From what I see, it is of highly doubtful origin.
