Well....now that you mention it, I did see a big white button that was being auctioned off, but I think they took it down. Seriously.

Continuing here....Laura's thread about the Black Album auction was locked.....
. What about "Camille", Prince's alter-ego? He didn't say that? . Interesting how people are getting their hands on all this stuff....this will go on for infinity.

Splendid paisley brooch personally worn by Prince, measuring 2.5 x 1.5, and set with six multicolored faux gems. In fine condition. From the collection of Prince’s former assistant, who notes: "I spent a lot of time organizing things when we moved Prince to his new home in Chanhassen on Galpin Boulevard. From time to time when I was was there he would have things set out that he no longer wanted and on one occasion the paisley pin was included. I liked it so I kept it." @Bart, RR emailed me and included this quote from Alan Leeds:
"Strictly speaking it would be a bootleg in that there was never any official release of this recording. Some fans must have made a handful of CDs of the interview and somehow found its way into my archive (I honestly can't recall how I got it). ANY source recording would have been made off the original broadcasted interview and be considered a "private recording”. Any knowledgeable Prince fan would recognize that this is a private recording being made available from one fan to another - that no such interview was ever marketed for sale to the public in any format. Best, Alan"
So... Alan Leeds says it's not only sort of a bootleg and I generally agree. I think by the normative fan definition, it probably IS a boot, but especially given its provenance, I think it's not at all unreasonable to have it included in the sale, personally. ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

There was a bootlegg of an interview Prince did in Europe promoting Dirty Mind. I have a copy so journalist have made copies of interviews and booted them. Alan is a douch.

. Interview discs were a pretty big boot item in the 1990s and beyond. This is just Prince, but the same happened for plenty of other artists: https://www.discogs.com/s...p;type=all . Of course, with Prince it was more lucrative, because he did so few back then. And some of those dontain material that's definitely copyrighted, e.g. the MTV interview fron Nice etc. © Bart Van Hemelen

Who would know if they were really owned by Prince or not, or whether he even looked at them if he did!? . Anyone want to buy mine? (Prince may have held them in factory... although I can't prove it!) [Edited 2/16/18 5:49am]
