As a fellow Prince.org member for many years who started collecting Prince memorabilia back in the early 90's, I am SELLING my authentic PRINCE GOLD CHAIN HAT early & accurate replica which I bought directly from the OFFICIAL New Power Generation Catalog/Store back on March 23, 1994. That's 23 years ago! This is the crown jewel of my private Prince collection. I decided to post this ad here to all my fellow Prince Fams and allow YOU the first opportunity to make me an offer on it before I bring it to other outlets for sale, soon.

Prince can be seen wearing his gold chain hat in the "MY NAME IS PRINCE" music video and its CD & vinyl singles along with many stage performances. This is a truly ICONIC piece of Prince costume and one that is always a conversation starter with friends and family which is why I waited so long to sell it. It's my FAVORITE owned piece of Prince memorabilia and it will be missed (as he is) but its time for someone else to enjoy it for many years to come.

What makes my hat SPECIAL (and an important distinction) is that it was constructed in a similar fashion to Prince's actual gold chain hats in that the gold chains are stitched with black THREAD to the bottom of the brim of the hat. You might see other gold chain hats (from time to time) for sale that have gold HOOPS punched through the brim of the hat to hold the gold chains, but that's NOT how Prince's actual hats were constructed. His hats used THREAD to hold the chains to the bottom of the brim exactly like mine has - which is noticable in all photographs of Prince wearing his hat(s). See Reference photos below. So this is the closest and most accurate representation you'll find to an actual Prince owned & worn version. I wouldn't be surprised if this hat was made by the same people who made his own gold chain hat(s) as they are so identical (but I cannot officially confirm that).

I have the ORIGINAL (Fall/Winter '93) NPG catalogue book N.P.G. V.1 (in like new or mint condition) used when I purchased the hat back in early 1994 as well as the original receipt and FedEx label as proof of original purchase and delivery. Amazing!!! I keep the hat resting on a black ceramic head in a clear acrylic fully enclosed display box (except for this photoshoot of course).

• Hat color black (or very dark navy blue & black depending on if viewing in direct sunlight)

• Gold colored chains (bendable light-weight metal & each link is removable)
• One large gold colored metal Prince symbol in-front (about 4 inches tall)

Notice in the below zoomed-in image of the previous Herb Ritts credited photo of Prince wearing his gold chain hat that it used black THREAD to attach the chains to the bottom-side of the brim, NO hoops are punched through the brim. This is consistant with my early official replica version of the hat.

You're right, I took a second look & feel and they are metal but a very very light-weight metal to where they feel like plastic. These are metal and bendable. I'll update the post. Thanks!
