After I emailed Paisley Park about Specs and Payment info, here was their reply: "Hello, Thank you for your interest in the Cloud Guitar. We will be sending detailed payment information along with the specifications for this model on Monday. Sincerely, Paisley Park Team" So... we'll see what's up on Monday! 😎

I'm definitely getting one, in white. Don't plan to play it on any stage but want to compare it to the replica I bought online. I believe Schecter should be a better quality, playable guitar. I'm glad PP is doing this for the fans. Can't wait to see the purple plush lined hard case that it comes with. Putting my $250 retainer down this week.

I own a Shecter through body in white - it is an amazing instrument. I play it onyl at my house, not in performances etc. I actually ordered the blue bolt on neck with synbol inlays from the old store during the ONA tour ($1000 vs. the $1500 for the through neck) first and while it was GORGEOUS it was damaged during shipping and the neck was cracked badly at the bolt on point. When I contacted the store they gave me a full refund once I returned the guitar but informed me there were NO replacements available. (Judging by the number on display thoroughout Paisley Park I question the accuracy of that report, but to be fair all the ones at Paisley were through necs with dots so I guess they were honest with me). About a month later they put up a VERY limited number of white through necks and dot inlays with slight finish blemishes for $1000 and I was able to sang one. I love it - the blemish is on the back side and does not have any impact on the look or quality of the guitar. I would love to own a blue or peach version and honestly the $1750 is not so bad considering they were $1500 over 10 years ago IF the quaility is as good. That being said with 2 kids now I couldn't afford it if they were $200 bucks a piece.

Correction - was on the Hit n Run 2000-01 Tour - not ONA

Yes the Hohner tele replica would be a real treat. I have the Harley Benton version and it's not all that. The real deal Madcat cost $3k and I'm thinking about getting one of those.

Bishop31, thanks for the update! . I like the specs, though 14" is a FLAT fretboard. I guess that makes sense though. P was a small man and probably had small/narrow fingers. Low action fretboard would allow him to still blaze it up! . Would really like to be able to try one first, but I do like it. Decisions, decisions...!!!!

It looks pretty legit. And of course will look beautiful. Not to mention Schecter is a great company. I'm taking the Paisley Park Tour this weekend with my wife. I think I might throw down that deposit!

Prince used the metallic blue during the Rave period, correct? To my knowledge he never used a metallic white one. I would prefer a different color, like the Blue Angel, peach, or yellow one. Still debating. TRUE BLUE

I've never seen it in person or seen a Hi-Res photo to know for sure.

I'm going to Paisley Park this Saturday. I'll check out the white one they have on display in the Purple Rain room again and report back. I don't remember it being metallic looking when I saw it before. TRUE BLUE

I'm going on Saturday, too! What time is your tour??

The cloud on display in the Purple Rain room is one of the Schecter Diamond Series models from 2001. It is a metallic pearl white. The Blue cloud in Studio B is the same.
Has anyone received any additional information regarding these guitars (as in a picture)? The 2001 models had an incorrect headstock and the neck pickup was front loaded (easier), whereas the original clouds were rear-loaded.
I'm curious since they are including more expensive pickups (accurate EMGs) if they will actually correct the other specs to be much more accurate.

Something about this still makes me think that these are left over guitars from NPGMC, with the fret markers updated to be symbols.

To my knowledge it was about as pure white as you could get (not metallic, and not pearlescent). It was just high-gloss, which might give off that look.

I had that thought as well. It's very possible they are overstock from NPGMC sale. But, these pickups are EMG, which if I remember correctly, were not in the NPGMC Cloud guitars. Perhaps someone can confirm that...?

If they were overstock, I don't think they would say they wouldn't be available until March. Prince had a lot of guitars. I was at a video shoot for I Like It There, and they had a lot of guitars hanging from the soundstage ceiling that you can see in the video. Great times!!! TRUE BLUE

Shecter had versions with symbol fret markers and with dots. My forst one (blue but neck was busted) had symbol markers. The white one I got a few months later has dots. I think there were a few kept at Paisley )obviously there were some since 2 are on display) but I think these are new manufactures. Also Where as it been confirmed that they are being done by Shecter? I must have missed that

. Hi Bishop31, just curious if you put down a deposit on the cloud! And was there one there to pick up and get a feel for?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Hi! Yes, I did in fact put down my deposit for the White Cloud. They didn't have a guitar to try our when I did the Paisley Tour this past weekend. But, they did have on display the White NPGMC Cloud guitar that was sold in the early 2000's. And that was absolutely beautiful. And this new guitar coming out has better hardware specs than that guitar did. So, because I didn't wanna miss this opportunity, I took the chance based on that info. IMHO, if it looks like that previously released Cloud, with better specs, it's a win win.
But, I did email Paisley Park asking them when or if they will release a Model picture of the Cloud Guitar they are releasing. They emailed me back stating they believe it will be closer to March when the Cloud will be released. I'm guessing it's because none have been made yet for them to show.
I'll definitely let you know when I see or hear something!
