"Autographed guitar" being auctioned off on Verizon Rewards

So, Verizon Wireless has a rewards program where you accrue points that you can then redeem for various things, like gift cards and other products. Today, I saw that they're auctioning off a purportedly autographed guitar (a Squier Bullet) ...

What do y'all think? Seems weird to me.

Which is worthless anyway. Who's going to sign it? Verizon people? People lie - all the time. I mean, it could be something someone had him sign a long time ago, but still.

Certificate schmertificate.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Nope, he wasn't, that's why there's maybe a 50/50 change some kid had him sign his guitar long ago. And why is it advertised as a "Purple Rain guitar"??? What crap.

No one in their right mind buys something like that wm without a certificate. You have no legal ground to stand on if it is fake.

Everyone on this thread is asking for a COA. What company would provide a COA, that previous posters would consider trustworthy? Just asking

Ok we know who it wound not be. It would never be first party authenticated (meaning Prince himself). So what Authentication company would provide a COA, that all all the posters would consider legit?

If you do not get a first party. How about a picture of P using the guitar. I picture of P giving the person the guitar. An explanation of how the seller was able to obtain it. You can also have a hand writing expert analyze the autograph by comparing it to other signatures that are out since Prince dashed off so many notes to people. Lots of ways to verify. I think this is fake he was not known for doing a lot of autographs in his later years and even the guitar he gave to Spike Lee is not signed as he told Spike he would not sign it.
