Prince - Alter Ego UK Edition Sealed

Hi,

Ive recently aquired Prince - Alter Ego comic and wondered if there was any interest in it?

Its still new, sealed in original packaging and has the free badge with it. I know theres a few knocking around but I havent seen one still sealed with the badge recently. Ive also seen a lot of the US version but these dont have the free badge.

Anyway just thought id see if any fans had any interest in it before it goes in our standard comic book auctions

***Im trying to post a photo but having difficulty - will keep working on this and post asap***

That depends, how much are you asking for it?

if you dont like the price thats fine, you are not being forced to purchase it. To make a stupid insulting comment though speaks volumes for you. Find me another one of these on the market that is still sealed and then your opinion can become valid. There are numerous opened/used versions of this comic around that range from £10-£60 and they are the more commonly obtained US version without badge, so an unopened UK print (under 3000 in original print run) is worth a lot more.

To make a stupid insulting price of your item, and the fact that you joined this board to sell it speaks volumes about you too.

so you obviously have no understanding of the comic/magazine industry within collectable goods and their value.

There is no insult in a price being set based on existing issues on the market in a lesser condition. You may also notice a "best offer" option which allows potential buyers to offer what they feel its worth. Callimnate also had an opinion on its value, which they are entitled to, but unlike you didnt make the dick comment about being in dreamland.

Yes I joined the board to bring attention to our sale of a Prince item and no i'm not an avid fan. But anyone with half a brain would realise that if anyone would be interested in an item like this it would be a Prince fan! As someone with links to his/her own blog even you should understand finding the right audience.

^ Ok, I apologize for my "dick" comment. Let's see what it sells for then.

Seriously, I have sold a bunch of these in the last decade for about $30 a piece (leftovers from NPG store in Camden...) and I had a pretty hard time finding buyers who were interested in paying $30 for it... So good luck trying to fetch £180 for it...

there was never "we" have no understanding. Now your just jumping on the bandwagon to impress. Your original comment of "£50 tops" proves the point that this market is purely what someone will pay, not everyone but that one person. £50 "valuation" to you is "pretty hard time finding buyers who were interested in paying $30" for Neversin and Millitant has purchased a "used" issue for £7, great but not new and sealed so that price is irrelevent. If its the one i think it may be that went for the same price then sadly that is far from mint. The badge has been re-taped down for a start! - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm...&rt=nc

at the end of the day ive come on here to sell something, thats all, not to give anyone grief or receive it. If it doesnt interest you then just ignore it rather than being a keyboard warrior and dont buy it!

I was just saying what I had experienced with this item...
Of course you will be able to sell it, I just doubt you'll fetch £180 for it... But I've seen worse...
In the end there's always someone who will pay whatever for this... I once saw someone sell a "The Work pt. 1" CD single for $500... So...

and i genuinely appreciated your feedback on this. Ive sold thousands of comics and magazine of all kinds of values but never this one so your previous experience is certainly something I took on board. I was using your comment as a prime example that there is never a "standard" price for any comic, book or collectable item. Your actual experience was different from others presumption on value and that is the historic data that we have found near impossible to find elsewhere. You are the first person ive come across who has sold unopened sealed versions of this

errr it is not sealed. It may be in its original packaging but it is not sealed. Folding over the original sticker from HMV does not count - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm...RK:MESE:IT

Sealed means unopened and that clearly has been opened.

I'm a hardcore Prince fan. About as hardcore as it gets. You have to be, to mod this place for free lol lol

I'm happy with the unsealed one I got for £7, as it's still in fantastic condition.

This particularly piece of memorabilia is only going to appeal to hardcore Prince fans like me. Who would never pay more than £30 for it IMO. And who also don't really give a crap if it's sealed or not as long as it's in good condition, because that's something that only comic book fans care about.

Unless you manage to find someone who is both a hardcore Prince and also obsessively into comic books to the point where they care about sealed ones, there's absolutely no way on earth you'll get anywhere near £180 for it. Anything above £50 would be a massive stretch.

By putting it on eBay for £180 you are completely wasting your time. If I was selling one, I would likely put it up for something like £75 with the ability for people to make offers. And I'd accept any offer over £30, if you're really trying to get rid of it.
