I'm sure there will be quite a few who will say variations of: "he's brilliant, a legend, and people pay more for lesser talented musicians for much larger arenas."
Maybe there is something to be said for that.
A few considerations I have:
1) The shows are genereally smaller. This leads me to consider that the venues don't cost as much to book. This also leads me to consider that the crew needed would be less than on a tour that one would have to recreate the Endorphinmachine. All of these things would lead me to believe that there would be less money needed.
2) The band is smaller. If this is true, I'm thinking there aren't as many musicians to pay. Rather than 22-24 other musicians and back-up dancers, I think there's probably quite less talen.
I have never bought a second hand ticket, and I do admit that it feels a bit weird to consider that general admission tickets are about as pricey at the box office than some better seated tickets that would be sold by scalpers. Let me put it like this. I'm glad Prince isn't coming to chicago so i don't feel poor and guilty not being able to attend. Prince is charging 250 dollars because he knows he can. Unfortunately i don't believe this is right for prince to do because let me put it to u like this. I saw him for a 100 bucks and it was the greatest concert i ever saw. Now that he's charging 250 i have to ask is this concert gonna be 2.5 times better? To me no general admission concert except for a farewell concert is worth 250 bucks. I'm pretty sure one night alone prices were cheaper. But then again its not something to get angry about. PRince probably wants to attract a certain high class or super dedicated crowd which doesn't seem right for a rock concert lol. Anyways the only losers are the super dedicated fans like me who can't afford 250 dollars but would even if we barely could. OH yea and its no fun to go to a concert alone because idk who else i could convince to spend more than 125 bucks to see prince and i have some friends who are prince fans but most fans like most fans of any artist are more casual.

It's all relative. Personally, I think 250.00 is too high for a small club gig. You aren't going to be getting a big production like in a larger venue. The "rehearsals" in Minneapolis were as high as 250.00 on Friday night, so I'm a little surprised the West Coast shows aren't even more than that. I was surprised tickets were still available a few days after the on sale date. TRUE BLUE

$250 for a samll club sounds like a not a bad deal, tickets for the arena shows in Australia were $550 for a decent seat. "Prince don't know how many hits he got"
