100 more tickets released for tonight's Dakota show!

Yep, wrong forum, dupe post, can be locked/moved/deleted in an hour or so, but right now, wanting to get the word out as quickly as possible!

Dakota just tweeted:

We can hold more than we thought! There will be 100 GA SRO seats available at the door $250 each, doors at 10:15, 11:00 showtime PRINCE

If you're in Minneapolis and you missed out on a ticket (and want one), get down there now! excited

Seriously?

100 highly sought-after OFFICIAL tickets released for a Prince MPLS show that starts in just over an hour and the post lasts 20mins in P:M&M, before being moved to the Marketplace??

hmmm

Wow. Ok.

I assume that the capacity goes up once they remove a lot of tables and chairs - they did say that they are standing room only, so perhaps some furniture went out to make more of a dance floor smile

Purchasing tickets to any Prince performances/concerts gets posted in this forum, always have. And there are a few stickies at the top of this forum discussing tix.

I understand, and I'm sorry that my frustration spilled over into this thread.

I guess I had just hoped that, given how P:M&M is SO much more visible, that the thread could have stayed there for a little while longer, just enough maybe for some MPLS people to see that there WERE actually more tickets available (we'd all assumed it was sold out).

If there are no mods around, posts can be in the wrong forum for many hours before they got moved - I guess I was just hoping for some leniency (ie. "turning a blind eye") on the basis that it might actually help some people in the org community get to the show, particularly given that I'd seen a number of posts from people who missed out on tickets because it all happened so quickly.

And yes, I was surprised that it went to Marketplace - I didn't realise that even posts about the official ticketsellers releasing more tickets goes here (I thought it was just for people selling extras, etc...)

Is this the case for posts regarding concert tickets being released by Live Nation or Ticketmaster as well?

There's no question that moderating this place is like herding rabid cats and I do really appreciate everyone's efforts. The rules are obviously in place to help the site run more smoothly and to help people find what they're interested in quickly and easily.

I guess I'm in favour of those rules being bent when enforcing them possibly isn't going to meet that aim; eg. People not thinking to look in the Marketplace on the off chance that Dakota have released 100 more tickets for a small show that was sold out days ago, or not visiting a subforum that's been completely dead for months in time to learn about a potentially insightful survey of Prince fans that could - if it gets enough meaningful data - feed into the process of a new Prince website.

But obviously I'm bias towards my own interests, so I need to defer to the objectivity of you and the other mods now and so will leave it alone.

Apologies again for the outburst rose
