The Vault Book: Possible Trade Opportunity

Now that the various bidding wars on eBay have ended, it appears that I will soon have one more copy of the book The Vault than I actually need (the worn copy that I won first before the others went up for auction). I do not want to sell it, and I might give it to a university library. However, I would also consider working out a deal with an orger who really wants this book and has some stuff that I'd like to get in a trade. Here are some items I currently don't have that I would like to have:

European CD singles of "Alphabet Street," "Glam Slam," and "I Wish U Heaven"

Japanese CDs of The Family and Vanity 6

Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic remix CD

The Daisy Chain CD

Goldnigga 16-track first CD pressing

If anyone would like to propose a trade involving some combination of those, or other rare items, I am listening. I am only willing to trade for authentic items and not bootlegs or counterfeits. Send me an orgnote if you'd like to discuss it.

Thanks to those who proposed possible trades. I have decided to donate my extra copy to the music library of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. That way, anyone who is doing research on Prince will have a place to go and look at it.

Good for you! I have a copy of The Vault but it is becoming so rare that someone (why didn't Per Nilsen?) should contribute it to a library. Maybe, with his permission, they could scan it into their computer system and make it available to people who don't have access to it...

It is available at the National Library of Sweden because it was published there. However, I thought it might be good to have it available at a research library in the U.S., particularly in Minneapolis.

The library would have to negotiate with the copyright owner to make it available digitally.
