i saw this on ebay and i wonder if people here think it's real...

to me, i have to wonder because i thought by this time prince had been a lot less frequent in signing autographs and even showing up to those sort of after gig back stage meet and greets.

the price isn't bad, but what would be the point if it was fake.

You can never verify these 100% unless you are buying from someone with clear evidence, but based on what I'm seeing, I would call it fake all the way. Reasons:

1. It looks like someones attempt to pull off his signature.

2. Its on a poor non official photo, so why would someone ask him to sign it?

3. Whole thing is a mish mash of eras.

4. Prince usually signs with a heart in 86. The next signing era, (88) he was mostly using "Love God, P"

5. Prince's sig is usually more flamboyant in the 80's.

6. Ask when the COA says it was signed. We can normally tie down when he did a signing session.

7 Seller is a dealer. How can he prove authenticity?

8. Admits in feedback he just takes sources word on authenticity!

9. Seller already accused of supplying fakes.

Save your money. Its a poor mock up anyway.

First its obvious its a fake signature because of the way it's signed. Here is another givaway the forger does not know prince that well. He has a picture of prince during the parade era and the pass is from p.r. tour. it makes you think he was backstage during the pr tour and had prince sign the photo, however the photo is from the Future! so what is the backstage pass doing in the set along with the p.r. tour pick. the person just threw it together without knowing anything.

that was the first thing i thought when i looked at it. it looks like p's hair is a lot shorter than it was on the purple rain tour.

and i always thought the love god pick didn't come until later on.

well, thanks to both of you for the great advice. now i just hope that no one bids on it as it'd be pretty crappy to be uninformed and waste your hard earned cash on such a thing.

i'm tempted to send the seller a msg, but it was mentioned that he's been accused of selling forgeries before, so what would be the point
