Wow. When it rains, it pours. Ecstacy, I give you first dibs on that one.

It's raining Vault books. lol

I sold one a couple of weeks ago (i'm sure that a certain member of this board will not mind me saying this now that the transaction is complete) and I was surprised how much it sold for considering it's condition, which was not bad but not mint.

I wonder if this current high price bubble will burst any time soon? The book has always fetched high prices on ebay, but these are some of the best prices for it that I have seen in long time. Like everything else, prices for The Vault fluctuate. There was a period not long ago where there was a copy cropping up every few weeks and despite selling for high sums they never really made the prices that is seems to be fetching of late. Good time to sell perhaps? It seems to be.

I have another mint copy which due to these recent high prices I was tempted to sell also, but after much thought I have decided to keep it, it's still a great book and i'd miss not having one.

Best of luck to everyone who is selling and bidding.

It seems pretty obvious to me that people are putting their copies up for sale in response to the high prices that we've seen recently. Unless there is an increase in demand to match the increase in supply, the price will drop. I don't remember much from my college economics class but I do remember that. lol

By the way, the copy of The Vault that this thread was originally started about just sold for $387.30 (to someone other than me).

I am the owner of the vault eBay listing 'dhillo_1'
Let me start by reminding you that eBay protects the buyer and not the seller. I was given 1 negative feedback as the winner could not pay due to his paypal account being restricted. This was no fault of mine and as someone earlier suggested,I did not seek alternative payment methods.
I'm listing my book due to a summer wedding I am paying for. The item is in a near mint condition.
If anyone is interested please check out the listing on eBay. My seller account is dhillo_1.
Thanks
Mikey

I'm sorry that the other bidder drove up the price and then failed to close the deal. Very unfair on his or her part. Good luck with the relisting.

Hi, if anybody who has a copy of The Vault could confirm a printing error which means that one of the pages has an overhang of 1 centimetre which has to be folded back into the book i'd be really grateful.

Yeh it sucks.. There are so many dodgy characters on ebay. You sell an item.. the buyer doesn't pay and then they leave negative feedback. You object tot he feedback and ebay does nothing. Then you have 92% feedback and people think twice before bidding.

With all this competition I moved mine too the 'local' site Marktplaats.

It's a pity when a buyer does pull a unnecessary negative feedback thing on you. With the current rules you can only respond to it in a note which makes it a defending thing.

I'm the current high bidder in SquirrelMeat's auction. I expect it will go higher, but I wanted to give the previous high bidder a chance to make a play for one of the other copies instead if he or she wants to. I would like to end up with that signed copy when this bidding frenzy is over, even if I end up taking a loss later on on a copy I've already bought. However, I do have a spending limit, and I'm not going to take out a second mortgage for this. lol

I wonder if all of the bidders are reading this thread, or just me and ecstasy? I'm guessing most of the bidders are also on the org, although I have no way of knowing. I hope whoever spoiled Mikey's recent auction doesn't get involved in any of the others.

Well, looks like I'm outta this race you guys. Recent hospital stay on top of being uninsured for it... Lol, paying way more than student loans back now. Good luck to all bidders

Mines up simply because I didn't realise it had become so rare.

Up until 4 years ago, I had argueably the biggest Prince collection on ebay, but started a sell off when my twin boys came along. Its the space more than anything.

Ebay does irritate me. The fees, getting mucked around by bad buyers and sellers, but that said, its still the best tool to track down rarities.

I hope mine goes to an orger, then I'll see if I can find a nice surprise in the loft to throw in.

I can see the amount watching has dropped slightly now the price has hit £275. It reached 70 at the weekend, but has dropped to 63 now.

That copy apparently went for just $150. Could the bubble be about to burst?
