Hmmm... I don't think this is a coincidence. Anyway, I placed a bid.

Good luck with the book.

Talking of coincidences, I had two copies of The Hits/The B-Sides listed on ebay, I had them listed for ages, they never sold the first month, so I listed them a second month.. still no luck. I thought I would never sell them, then, last night, both copies sold within a couple of hours of each other, in totally different parts of the world.

Crazy. lol

Well, you've already outbid me, so maybe the third time will be the charm!

I know you are adult enough to make up your own mind about things, but bear in mind this person only has a feedback score of 12 and it's at a low 92%. I looked up the neegative feedback and it was something to with the seller wanting paid in a different method to (I assume) what was stated.

Seems like a small niggle, but negative feedabck in the space of 12 transactions would be enough for me to not deal with such a person.

Anyway, good luck with it, it's a great book and i'm sure you will enjoy it once you do find a copy.

I know, I saw that sad ANd I looked at it too, but disregarded it once I figured it was kinda irrelevant to my main concern of not receiving an item. But after converting the curreny, it's outta my price range sad So I had to retract my bid. *sigh* maybe next time around

But good luck to the other bidders!

Another buyer posted feedback that a jacket he bought from this seller smelled like smoke. I hope that isn't true of this copy of The Vault as well. I'm the high bidder again now that ecstasy has dropped out, but I'm not planning to fight too hard for this one.

There is another Uptown book called Turn It Up 2.0 that is currently being auctioned on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/U...997wt_1163

I read on one of these threads that this book was a precursor to The Vault, so it might have some of the same information. But I don't know for certain because I don't have either book. However, Turn It Up 2.0 is being offered with a Buy-it-Now price under $150.

The Vault on a crash diet lol

My sister has this book, it's good, but has a fraction of the info that The Vault contains.

Imo, it seems very expensive for 150-160 pages.

Still, not my money. lol

Hmmm, this is equally interesting to have in hand, and the price is nice for how rare it is. But, like DG said, it's only a fraction of what the Vault is. If Uptown 2.0 was $57 altogether, we'll be talking. But I'm not made of money to try and get both, so I'll be waiting for The Vault.

The Vault is the only Prince related book I don't have. I never actually saw it's value if I had Turn It Up 2.0 as well as Uptowns' Days of Wild. Plus all the editions of Uptown magazines?

Am I wrong here? Does the Vault contain more that's what's in all of the above mentioned Uptown books and magazines?

Thanks

Per Nilsen himself posted on here a while back and said he was selling his remaining volumes of The Vault for $75.00, which is the price it originally sold for. Too bad some people missed out on that deal.

$75, really? I took advantage of that offer and he charged me $100. lol

Still, when converted to UK sterling I still got a bloody good deal.

The bidding on this copy is up to GBP 195 ($308.96). I'm still the high bidder, but based on what happened in the last auction I don't think the bidding will stop here. Why he doesn't come out with a new edition is beyond me.

Bidding seems to be wild now these weeks.

I was planning to put my copy on ebay this week when I saw the 1st one around 230 (which ended much higher) but I see them pop up every week now.

It's a hot topic this vault.

Bonkers prices for these books of late. Great for sellers, bit of a pisser for the buyers.

I suppose it's the age old thing of it being worth exactly what a person is willing to pay for it.

Or, in the case of eBay, what two people are willing to pay for it.

Yeah, seems to be a core group of bidders doing battle.

Here is a cat among the pigeons.

I've listed my first edition signed copy of the Vault. I had two copies, the one I read to death and this one which is unused and in dark storage.

Check out the pictures, and before you ask, you can't have my SOTT gold disc!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/..._500wt_949

I'm happy to let the auction run its course, as I saw an unsigned lesser version sell for £338 recently, but if an orger wants it, they can have it for £300 plus delivery, if they can make a paypal payment direct and I'll shut the auction.

Cool! I hope I lose the auction I'm bidding in now so that I can bid in yours instead. For a while I was bidding on two Vault copies simultaneously, but I've bought too much other stuff now to keep that up. I found an original Japanese Mazarati CD and snapped it up before it got reported here. This definitely seems to be a bull market for Prince collectibles. I'm sure the bubble will burst if I ever decide to sell anything. lol

SquirrelMeat's copy is already up to $173.06 (with no bids from me yet)!

FYI, I'm not the one who drove up the price on the copy that this thread was started about--that's some other bidder. But once you dropped out I raised my maximum bid, because I want to make sure I come out of this with one nice copy, though I could still get sniped like I did in the last auction. There seem to be three or four of us crazy bidders that are responsible for this mess, but the high winning bids are bringing in new sellers too. Maybe once we've all gotten our copies you'll be able to get the next one cheap. Or you could save up for a Black Album longbox. lol

I'm surprised its risen so early too. There has been no secret bidding at my end. Interestingly, It has 48 people watching the sale already. There are obviously more people after the book than we thought.
