Wanted: Authentic CD Pressing of "The Family" I just tried to buy what looked like an original CD of "The Family" from Amazon, only to find out (thanks to a tip from Squirrelgrease) that it is a counterfeit. The good news is that I got my money back before the counterfeit was shipped. The bad news is that I still don't have the CD, and I can't seem to find the real thing anywhere on the Internet. If anyone has an authentic original CD pressing of "The Family" that you'd like to sell, send me an orgnote with your asking price and a picture of the cover and disc (so that I can verify it's not another counterfeit).

The price they are quoting for still in print items from Sheila E and The Time is horrid. The Glamorous Life and the first three The Time releases are a part of WEA super savers series which you can get for under $9, esp at J and R Music www.jr.com Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. The "Starborne Records" version is also a fake. I almost got fooled into paying $150 for it on Amazon, but then I checked past org threads and found out it's a counterfeit. I was thinking it might be a good idea to have a sticky here linking to that thread and others that contain pictures of fakes, and adding additional photos of fakes as we find them. I'm not sure if it's such a great idea to post images of the original CDs and their matrix numbers, however, as this will just help the counterfeiters improve their "product."
