Are these prices for Prince singles on vinyl accurate? Is this site overcharging for Prince singles?

I have no idea what Prince items ar worth these days, but Madhouse has always been very expensive and I was told not so long ago by somebody who knows what he is talking about that this has not changed. Hope that helps. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Yes and no, people who specialise in a specific artist or other are always going to be a little more expensive than a large chain store for example.
And think about it, where else are you going to find half this stuff? Small record shops? Maybe. Ebay? Probably. Record fairs? Maybe.
The beauty of people like Madhouse is that they have done all the searching for you, and put it up for sale all in one convenient place.

Madhouse are here on the org, so maybe they will spot this thread and can give you their own take on prices.

I am honestly asking because I have some singles that apparently are worth more than I paid for them ($1) , or maybe not...I dunno.....

It depends on the condition of the items you have, if they have been played (even once), that will make them less valuable. Unless of course they are mega rare. Prices vary wildly, people like Madhouse will have a price for a specific item, then someone else will have a different price for the same thing, then you will find a third price on somewhere like Ebay. It's up and down all the time. I have been on the verge of buying very rare things from places like madhouse in the past, then found the same item in the same condition on Ebay for next to nothing, and of course this can happen both ways too.
I'm certainly not qualified to offer advice on value on specific items, these are just my thoughts and experience as a buyer.
I'm sure someone on the org could give you a few pointers.

The correct price is always whatever someone is willing to pay. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Exactly, well known phrase. The market value of an item is what someone decides to pay.

I really appreciate looking at all the cool stuff that Madhouse has...and I guess them being in the UK changes prices a lot (i.e., Lotusflo3er costing over $40)...

Hell naw, a lot of British suppliers overcharge, the same problem with postage stamps too. The people who publish the Stamp Catalogues (Stanley Gibbons) are so overpriced, in New Zealand we charge 3/4 of the listed British price in Dollars, so if a stamp is valued at 4 pounds we sell it for $3 Kiwi Dollars (Exchange rate NZ$1 = 0.45 GBP), so like about 32% of its catalogue price. I imagine the same is for Prince vinyl. I mean I got a vinyl copy of 3121 in Pristine condition complete with Plastic, it hadn't been opened and it won't for $28.95 NZD or about 13 GBP, and I actually thought that was expensive. I also paid $5 for a 12 inch of America (21.46 long version) that was in Very Good condition, record clean but the flimsy sleeve had the circle ring of the record partly visible.
Rule of thumb, if you really want it, pay half of those prices, if you kind of want it, 1/3 and if they are desperate to offload it (eg a copy of My name is Prince) pay no more than a quarter catalogue. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I get 90% of my music from Ebay, if something is too expensive, i wait, eventually i get what i want for very little. I have paid some amazingly low prices for rare material in pristine condition. And not just Prince.

A good reference for Prince vinyl is the Sleevographia website, where Alex keeps record of the Ebay bidding price history for all vinyl. Actually, it is a bloody good website overall! Thanks, Alex, for the amazing work!

I've found loads of rare stuff for next to nothing but then that took alot of leg work. What I will say is that Madhouse do I guess overcharge but they are good for having that one item that fills a hole in your collection.
I'll just repeat it's worth what you are willing to pay.
Madhouse arne't the cheapest around but they are a good service to have
