The Vault, DMSR, Uptown etc.

I still have some spare copies of books I've done, primarily The Vault and D.M.S.R. (both editions), as well as many issues of Uptown. Is there any interest in any of these items? I've been told some stuff show up now and then on Ebay at extraordinary prices. I could sell at more reasonable prices, assuming that there are people out there who're looking for things like this.

I also have huge amounts of other Prince stuff/memorabilia, but have never gotten around to documenting this stuff.

If you include your e-mail address, I could get in touch.

It was published by a different company. The first edition was published by Firefly Publishing in 1999. Then, the second was published by SAF Publishing Ltd in 2003.
I have both edition but have not closely investigated the difference. Having roughly checked, I felt there was no major difference with content but I could be wrong.

I would think if there was a big difference in the two editions, we'd have heard about it by now. The 2nd edition had a different cover, and was published by a different company - that's probably the extent of it.

True, no real differences between the 2 editions of DMSR. I don't think any content was changed at all. I need to check on this as I hardly recall this myself.

Hi again!

People who are interested in any of the books or magazines I've been involved with can email me at this address.

per.nilsen@liu.se

It's easier for me than checking prince.org mailings.

I guess. I asked Per for a price, but he did explain that he had a ton of people asking for it and only so many to go around. I never received pricing. It's totally understandable though, he should make the money on these books and if they went any cheaper, they wouldn't go to as many folks that actually desire to own the book as those interested in putting it up on eBay for a hefty profit.

I have no problem with Per asking that amount. I just wish I had the opportunity to be offered one. But honestly, I don't think I would pay $150.

He emailed me tonight and said he had upwards of 50 requests, and based on what a few were offering to pay, he asked if I was willing to pay $150.

I think it's an outrageous price though.

OK. I just checked my gmail and Per had sent me the email too. I declined, but I'm hoping DMSR comes in more affordably.

I got the same e-mail, being from the uk $150 works out quite well 4 me. I have seen these books sell in the past on Ebay uk 4 upwards of £150-200. If however i do buy one from Per, it will have pride of place in my Prince book/mag collection. I have been wanting one 4 a very long time, but always baulked at the crazy Ebay prices.

If you can afford it, get it. From what I've seen, it's THE book for nuts-and-bolts type stuff. The only complaints I've ever heard about it is the font size, not the content.

the font size is very tiny..a lot of info in there ..shame they couldn't lay it out on more pages..but that would have put the printing prices up considerably...

I couldn't justify $150 for this book..but its not too bad considering some ebay prices....

also don't forget it stops with any new info around 2003 from memory.....

shame it hasn't been updated but seriously who would want to do any work for Prince nowdays anyway?...it'd just be another excuse for Prince to set his lawyers on 'attack'...

BTW - would you ever consider selling a 'digital' (pdf) version? ie no printing costs...just profit....
