Wreka stos? Detroit, toronto or New York stores that carry Prince vinyl, posters and other memorabillia? I remember in Detroit there use to be a bunch of Prince stores.
One in Dearborn, I cannot remember the name. But they all seem to be gone. Are they still around? Ones that sell posters, vinyl and other memorabilia? I will miss those places....damn now you know when you’re getting old! LOL What about Toronto or Detroit? And don't anyone joke and say,,,, what is a wreka sto? Then I will really feel old. I lived in Detroit during 94-98.
There are a few Wrecka Stows still out there. There is a GREAT GREAT store on 9mile and Gratiot. Called "Melodies And Memories". Great store for Prince stuff too!!! They used to have the cardboard standee from Purple Rain. They carried alot of "import" cds. And even had a nice selection of Promotional items. Last time I was there was about 2007, and they still had a HUGE selection of vinyl, if you had the time to go through it. Tons of related artists promos and others goodies like that. Lots of promo 12". When in Detoit, just go to the YELLOW PAGES for music stores. You'll be amazed at the "mom & pop" stores that have the most obscure stuff you've ever seen. Thats how I found them all when I first moved there. Many have come/gone since, so use the yellow pages. OH, almost forgot a good one!!! It's in St. Claire Shores. Forget the name, but it's across from K-mart in St. Claire Shores. About 2 blocks from Elizabeth Street. You'll find it and be very happy you did!!!! Hope that helps. Eric

Eric Just did a Googlemap for the area... Here ya go... Car City Records 21918 Harper Avenue St Clair Shores, MI 48080-2218 Get Directions (586) 775-4770 You can also see Melodies And Memories on goodlemaps. It's approx. 23025 Gratiot Eastpointe. Mi. It has a large green awning, and painted windows of musicians. The street googlemaps gives is "Michigan 3" for some reason. But you can take a virtual drive down the road and SEE the store. Watch out for the cars around you while you ogle on google. LOL Hope that helps a bit. Eric

I go in Melodies & Memories every few weeks 2 see what they have. Great store, and the owner's pop culture memorabilia collection is STUNNING!
I used 2 go 2 the one in dearborn as well (the name escapes me...) but I used 2 get all of my UPTOWN magazines from there. I also purcahsed the 2 cd Dream Factory bootleg and the Possessed bootleg from there.I think they are closed down now. The Record Collector in Livonia was another good one. I discovered them in 1997 while I was in 10th grade and that was the first time I had ever seen or even heard of the existence of bootlegs. A whole new purple world opened up for me! They were eventually raided and shut down for selling bootlegs. Car City records is great as well. [Edited 3/29/10 8:42am]
