I've head about it. A bootleg DVD release that's supposed to look legit in the ads? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Apparently Paypal is safe and easy for sellers but not safe for the buyers. They sent me this:
"We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed." So basically this person or persons just took all the money out of their paypal account, basically the ole take the money and run. DJ Dave Paul

This sounds surprisingly like the work of Lotusflow3r.com. The same thing happened with my Lotus T Shirt! They advertised the offer, took my money and RAN!
Maybe its part of Prince's new innovative direct marketing. I think its genius! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The feeling you get when... (you squeeze your balls?) no that's not it...

Looks like we're in the same boat here.. I think that there's nothing more we can do...

Even though Paypal rules in your favor if there's no money in that persons account they can't refund you anything. But...
The one thing I didn't do is let Paypal keep the fee they collected from the "seller". In the US they get 2.9% + .30 cents each transaction as their fee from the sale. I called them up and told them since they ruled in my favor and know this person committed fraud they should refund me that amount. The customer rep tried to brush me off but I didn't let it go. I've been with them for 9 years, and the next day - I had $5 in my Paypal account from them. Not lots of money but I wasn't gonna let Paypal profit from this fraud too. If anyone EVER finds this person or persons who pulled this. Let me know. DJ Dave Paul

If you paid with a creditcard through paypal you can always file a "chargeback" with your CC company stating nothing was received, give them all the information on the transaction and they will persue a case for you.

Paypal are bullshit because I bought a product via paypal, it wasn't anywhere near as described and had bit missing, and they said because it hadn't come through eBay that couldn't act...they only step in via eBay disputes I was told

Yeah, the guy from Paypal told me that too. They only give buyer protection via Ebay sales. I guess since they get double paid on those sales they can afford to offer some protection. DJ Dave Paul

eBay bought PayPal in 2008. That's the dilemma. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I didn't see the ads on FaceBook, but to the novice they must have looked like they were legit. And given Prince's odd marketing schemes as of late (Shelbey/YouTube), I could see how gullibility could have played a role. It's too bad, really - but it is the internet. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I got most of my money back from Paypal - $61.40 out of $66.00. Not bad, but I wish I hadn't fallen for it in the first place! Just wishful thinking I guess!
