Information requested on "the Undertaker" project I was wondering if anyone has any solid information about the aborted "Undertaker" CD. I have read the stories in Uptown about how it was stopped after being pressed, and possibly most copies were destroyed by being encased in lucite e.t.c. but is there any first hand information from someone close to the "release" as to whether any of this really happened?

If UPTOWN is to be believed, there are not one but TWO different versions of 'The Undertaker' on CD. The first is the one most people are familiar with, and the other one is supposed to contain Prince's version of 'Jailhouse Rock'. Don't just take my word for it. Check the UPTOWN issue dealing with promos.

I just recently got ahold of a 'real' copy of The Undertaker, Andrew. I appears slightly damaged on the playable side as a result of the process it took to remove the 'coating' from the back (to make it playable again). I think the story UPTOWN wrote about The Undertaker project is completely true, as evidenced by my copy of it. It still plays fine, by the way. | |

Props 2 all , Andrew I have an original that has some damage from the 'lucite' removal process. Just a few scratches and a little 'burnt' residue on the edge. Still plays just fine. I believe UPTOWN's story completely because I hold the evidence in my hand. | |

I have actually seen a copy of it with some sort of was or something poured on it. The guy who owns it was trying to get it taken off by some record store but I'm not sure what ever happened.

Props 2 all , Andrew everything u heard was true... i own an original undertaker cd... as well as i know a few people who own one or two of em they were encased in lucite to make them unplayable in case a few got out...but someone figured out a way around it  | |

I think it was just a CD of the Video. I'm sure I've heard of promo copies around, but if you want to hear it, get the video ! | |

There's a fantastic webpage that goes way in depth on the Undertaker project...don't know the URL right offhand, but do a Google search and surely you'll find it...it goes on for pages and pages about the video and album details. | |

All I know is I have the Undertaker Laserdisc, and an ORIGINAL CD copy of Undertaker that cost me quite a bit. | |
