FA: Marshall 100W Mk II Master Model Lead (original 1981) Hi there,
@mods: If you feel it's more appropriate to be placed within the org artists' forum - please shift my post. Not sure if anyone's interested - whatever. A few days ago I started this auction: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBa...0105648386 Starting price has been 50 EUR, currently it has reached 223 EUR, with 5 days to go. There are more high-res pictures available at ebay. The story behind... The amp which is up for auction is a standard Marshall 100 W Mk2 Master Model Lead (Model 2203, Ser.No. 00184 N). There have been no technical tunings or add-ons applied to it - I decided to leave it like that. I bought it in the early 80's new and straight from the dealer's hands. I can't tell you the exact date, but 1982 would be good guess. The spec/check label inside says "Test 12.3.81". Since I got the cabinet from Prosound in Koblenz/Germany, I'm pretty sure I bought the amp there too. Please be aware that the cabinet (non-Marshall, 4x12" H/H) is NOT included in this auction. There will be a separate auction for this. Since then, I've been the first & only owner of this great amp. It has not been used for any tour, gig or whatsoever. During the 90's I've given up on playing, so I kept the amp in a dry, clean, and smoke-free living room. Condition... It has solely been used for rehearsals. Tubes were never changed. You still find the original 3x ECC83 and 4x EL34 set inside. I just recently checked if they're working, and they are doing fine. All controls/pots are working without any audible scratching noise - at least I haven't noticed it. The only damage I'm actually aware of is a split in the "Marshall" logo on the front. But it's not immediately visible. Red & black ... Ok, I see. You wonder where the hell you get a Marshall Mk2 Lead in red and black. Right? Well, I told you it's a standard one. But... I wanted it to be special. So I got me some paint in aerosol cans and there you are. Unfortunately, although I sprayed several layers red, the structure of the black ground causes the colour to be not that resistible. If you are about to take the amp touring, be prepared to see the colour being damaged. I guess that even a multiple layer of clear lacquer won't stop it from doing so. However, it's beautiful. Apart from that, it's absolutely unique regarding its finish. And honestly, each and every amp looses it's virgin look on tour, right? Even flightcases won't help that much. Questions... If there's any question you'd like to ask - feel free to do so. If there are requests for more pics which show specific details, it might take me a few days to get that done - same for detailed questions which require looking at the amp. I don't keep the amp where I live (Amp: Aachen/Germany, me: Trier/Germany). If you'd like to we might even arrange for a meet-up before auction ends so you can have a closer look at it yourself. You might even bring your guitar and play some licks. Quick additional note: Shortly, I will auction off the following items on ebay:
Korg / M1 Ibanez / Tube Screamer TS-808 Ibanez / Chorus CS-505 These I still have to check (if they're fully working). Guess so. Every item is the original 1st issue from the 80s. Only used for rehearsals. *Wolf | |
