Musicology Acetate Valuation

I recently picked up an acetate of the Musicology single from the UK.

I notice Sleevographia show on ebay auction going at 222 euros but I was wondering if this is a realistic valuation and wonder if anyone else has seen them moving about.

My copy's identical to this one - http://sleevographia2.fre...aGBR11.htm except the label shows a running time (4'26)

Hi, as I have never seen this before - what is an "acetate" - is it a "cardbox" sleeve with art on it and a single inside? Where are they sold (if at all)? What is their purpose.

Would be great if somebody could be so kind and enlighten me

An acetate is a transitional stage between the master tape and the finished vinyl record. It is metal plate covered in a layer of acetone. Very few are made and they are distributed to people directly involved with the recording in order that they can approve the sound before the record is cut. Usually less than a dozen acetates are made.
