ANOTHER AMAZINGLY UNDERRATED FUNK BAND - ONE WAY Although their albums tended to only have one or two really good tracks, collectively One Way produced some of the most wicked funk grooves ever. Tracks like Cutie Pie, Pop What Ya Got, Pull, Mr. Groove, Wild Night and more are amazing. A compilation of these jams makes for an outstanding cruising soundtrack. I think their stuff has been holding up really well and that they are quite underrated and underrepresented on CD. Anyone else feeling this???
Peace, Scott If you've got funk, you've got style.

I feel ya! Not only did they have some great songs, they had one of the baddest female vocalists. I really dig Guess You Didn't Know and Don't Think About It.

Their albums had more than one or two tracks. One Ways peak was from 82-84
"Wild Night" 1982 - 3 fantastic jams (Cuite Pie, Wild Night and Can I) and two better than average ballads "Shine On Me" 1983 - Another very strong album. "Sugar Rock" and "Let's Get Together" were as funky as anything they ever did. Lots of good mid tempo stuff on this album too. "Lady" 1984 - Best One Way album ever! Mr Groove, Smile (that bass-line!) & Dynomite are the fire! Two great ballads in "Don't Stop" and "Lady You Are" make this One Ways best album from start to finish. props for bringing up One Way. This group doesn't get near the love they deserve! [This message was edited Wed Jun 30 11:44:21 2004 by intha916] Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

Pop It (1980)
Something In The Past (1980)---one of their best slow jams! Push (1981) Pull/Fancy Dancer (1982) Lady You Are (1984) i also like "Cutie Pie" but I'm sick of it since they play it so much.
