I am extremely fond of Homogenic. It took me about a couple of years before I really got that album. It's incredible. I think Post is much more digestible for a first time listen. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Bjork said that the music on Homogenic is as close to the music she hears in her head. That is so cool. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Here's some that I really enjoy, and in my opinion some of the best work i've heard in a long time. I know this isnt exactly what u asked for.. but hey, u might just find a new door to open by it.
Ben Folds- Rock'N The Suburbs. Ben Folds playin every instrument, piano driven and more melody than most artist get in their entire career. Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. A Masterpiece. Colorful Songs delightfully layered with sounds that eventually end ubruptly to go along with the orig concept of the album, Miscommunication. Its one of the best piece of work that has come out of the 00' era so far. Beck- Sea Change. This album is also full of melody, but in a more sad sense. Its an acoustical album that is backed by beautiful orchestrated strings in the majority of the songs. Nigel Godrich produced the album. Postal Service - Give Up. Okay, If u've never heard Ben Gibbard.. This is a good place to start. He is the lead singer of Death Cab For Cutie.. and this poppy/glitch album is full of charm and the lead single "such great heights" is a gem, and suprisingly turns out to get better with each listen.. its a semi-face paced album with neat sounds with excellent vocals. Fun album The Beatles- The White Album. Anyone who has read most of the Beatle threads round here know how I feel about this album.. im constantly bringing attention every chance I get to this 2cd set. Its their best work, although seperation was apparent. With so much going on in the time of this album, somehow it works. They said fuck it.. lets put out a double album, even when the record company said no. Its full of great songs that are far ahead of their time.. even the misunderstood 10 minute loops of Revolution 9 set standards for most underground artists.. even Radiohead. Coldplay- Parachutes/A Rush Of Blood To The Head.. I say both cause I couldnt make a decision.. they are both masterpieces in my opinion. If u get Parachutes.. try to find the import release with "For You" on it... PM Dawn- Dearest Christian An album that was overlooked..Be's Vocals are stunning. Its a true masterpiece and their songwriting skills were amazing during this album. Its an album dedicated to his son and his feelings for bringing him to this earth. Highly emotional and some of the best music from that year. period Five For Fighting- Fight for everything (i think) I wouldnt consider this one of my favorite, or in my list.. but its certianly kept me listening since not much has been out latley.. great piano driven music. Radiohead- Kid A/Amnesiac These are from the same sessions, but very different.. Amazing music from an amazing band.. groundbreaking material, and not for everyone.. too precious for that Jeff Buckley- Grace This album gave hope the moment it released.. hope that this person would create some of the most beautiful work out there.. and he did on this album.. I wish he was still around. Amazing debut, and finale album. Hope any of this helps. Peace [This message was edited Wed Jun 30 15:08:36 2004 by Sdldawn]

In honor of my avatar, I would add the following to this list:
it's a perfect summer CD: light, airy and happy. While I've enjoyed their music since this CD, I still prefer Up A Tree. They had a concept and pulled it off completely. Enjoy

they totally ruined this on the US release. blecch. wellll...if you've never heard the UK version, the US release is serviceable. i found a new version of the UK release a year or two ago that has the order of songs messed up even further. what's up with that? whatever, though - it's all about "like a motorway", "pale movie" and "former lover"...and i'm sure a bunch of other essentially beautiful songs i'm foolishly forgetting.
