I was interested in checking out her music and was wondering what a good starting point would be?
when the melting pot stirs how we gonna take it?
when u can't tell him from her how u gonna fake it?

Welcome! Her golden age was 1975-1980, everything Hissing of Summer Lawns through Shadows and Light. Contemporary music that defies genre, crossing over from jazz, rock, pop, soul and country into a unique blend known only as Joni that never dates. These albums are your starting point. For further investigation, she did some terrific, underrated techno pop in the 1980's while on Geffen Records. Her early 1960's stuff is mostly acoustic, folksy and loveable all around, with such timeless classics as The Circle Game, Urge For Going and everyone's favourite Big Yellow Taxi. Oh yes and also listen to Court and Spark!

She won the grammy for it in 96. Kinda strange cuz the album came out in 94.

Any of her albums w/Jaco Pastorius playing bass will do just fine.
I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

I am a member of the Joni Mitchell 1971-1980 fan club. I would get every album between Blue through Shadows and Light.
