Yep, great song. But not a J5 song. It's on Michael's first solo album "Got To Be There".

"The Wall" is killing! I told u the "Maybe Tomorrow" album is the shit. What made J5 so tough is that a lot of their material wasn't really written 4 a kid group. Besides cuts like "ABC" of course. Prime example, the song "Maybe Tomorrow" was originally written 4 Sammy Davis Jr. 2 record, but he passed on it. A lot of the songs on "Maybe Tomorrow" could have easily been done by much older artists. Around that time (1971) some of Mowtown's biggest acts like The Four Tops were complaining to the label that they felt they were getting passed over in regards 2 material. They felt that all the good songs were going to the Jackson 5.

Yep, good cut. In their "transition" stage from kid group to young adults.

I remember when I was little, I used to play the intro to "Maybe Tomorrow" with that drum roll and that melody chorus where Michael is humming, over and over. To this day, it's one of my all-time favorite songs by anyone. I also used to play "It's Great To Be Here" to death. That was the first song I learned how 2 play on the drums. That has 2 be the loudest hi-hat ever mixed in a song. I love that shit! And "The Wall". Such a great song. That whole album is beautiful 2 me. That's the word 4 it.

loads & loads

but i never get tired of The Love You Save

when I read this thread I started humming that one, brings back great childhool memories for me, I remember learning to dance to that song.

Stop, you better save me
Stop, stop, stop, you better save me dear, woo
Do do do do do ...

When we played tag in grade school
You wanted to be it
When chasin' boys was just a fad,
You crossed your heart, you'd quit
When we grew up you traded
Your promise for my ring
Now just like back in grade school
You're doin' the same old thing

Stop, the love you save may be your own
Darlin' take it slow
Or some day you'll be all alone
You better stop
The love you save may be your own
Darlin' look both ways before you cross me
You're headed for a danger zone

I'm the one who loves you
I'm the one you need
Those other guys will put you down
as soon as they succeed
They'll ruin your reputation
They'll label you a flirt
The way they talk about you
They'll turn your name to dirt, oh.

Isaac said he kissed you, beneath the apple tree
When Benjii held your hand he felt electricity
When Alexander called you, he said he rang your chimes
Christopher discovered you're way ahead of your time

Stop, the love you save may be your own
Darlin' take it slow or some day you'll be all alone
You better stop
The love you save may be your own
Darlin' look both ways before you cross me
You're headed for a danger zone
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on..

Hold on
"S" is for save it
"T" is for take it slow
"O" is for oh, no
"P" is for please, please don't go

The love you save may be your own
Some day you may be all alone
Stop it baby, ooh, you'd better stop
The love you save may be your own, please, please
Oh stop you, stop you baby you'll be all alone

I'm the one who loves you
I'm the one you need
Those other guys will put you down
As soon as they succeed

Ooh, stop, the love you save may be your own
You better stop it,
Stop it, stop it, girl or someday you'll be all alone

The way they talk about you
They'll turn your name, turn your name
Stop, the love you save may be your own
Don't you know, you don't you know
Stop it baby or you'll be all alone

Those other guys will put you down
As soon as they succeed
(Fade Out)

"The love u save" is best 4 me!

"Maybe tomorrow" is beutiful and uplifting.

I REALLY wanna hear the adult piono version of "I'll be there" which u c a clip of him singing on an early 90's Pepsi commercial he did! It can be seen on the "Dangerous" video and is hauntinly beutiful! Mikeal please release it i beg u! Advert itself is very sad and very sombre and different to his other hyped up Pepsi commercials!

Does "Music and me" count? As it was a solo MJ Motown track! Love this the best too- u ca hear a clip of it in "Moonwalker" film at beginning of the video montage bit (?) Love to c an adult acoustic guitar version of that and piono version of "I'll be there" live! "Music and me" is autobiographical (but not written by him) and is very poigant from MJ's perspective as well as my own personal view too!
