would P Diddy be so popular is Biggie was still alive I am not a P Diddy fan he acts like he invented rap music and he is the 2nd coming of Christ.
My question is: Would he be as popular if Biggie was still alive?? Remember "I'll be missing you" put him on the map. He is so cocky, we won't stop, cause we can't stop...please!! How about making the band2, never in my life have i seen such an ungrateful bunch of indviduals in my life They are going to best the best rap group of all time, and they broke up. sorry folks, he does not impress me and his music sucks!! The End.

they did not break up..HE broke them up..and i totally agree if big was here p.diddy would not b as big as he is..and the only reason diddy is as big as he is music wise is cuz he's in everones video...he sign someone new 2 badboy they all up in his video..he produce a song for someone he all up in they video doin that same dance movie..the jump on one leg as he kicks up the other. Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...

P Diddy should NEVER ever consider music again.....but he's obviously an excellant business man. Four strings across the bridge. Ready to carry me over,Over the quavers, drunk in the bars,Out of the realm of the orchestra

and that is the key....Diddy is a business man who raps...not a rapper who runs a business. The man is an excellent business man.

For all of Diddy's business acumen ( He and Russell Simmons both are deserving of their success ), HE IS a horrible performer and weak trend follower. It's been said that most of his rhymes are authored by other writers, his all too obvious use of sampling and desire to be noticed is the only thing that keeps his name in the game. I like his clothing line, but can't stand much else about him. To finally answer the question, NO!!! [This message was edited Sat Jun 26 17:35:23 2004 by Mynameisspmarc] Jeux Sans Frontiers

P. Diddy's career is like if Barry Gordy tried to make albums. Not his talent at all; his talent is finding others that have it.

P Diddy would be as popular because he had already recorded that whole No Way Out album before Biggie died (then titled Hell Up In Harlem). He had already done a tonne of successful Bad Boy remixes in 1996, as well as the monster solo smash "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" with Mase, which came out late 1996 long before his album or Biggie dropped (ill pun). He was already had his verse on "Mo Money Mo Problems" featuring Mase which was recorded in Biggie's presence, and he had already appeared in the "Hypnotize" video. ALLLLL before Biggie died.
Yes, "I'll Be Missing You" was a breakthrough single, but I'm sure P. Did would have gotten over anyhow.

Musically he can't stand on his, he relys on other young rappers to keep him revelant. But there is nothing sadder than a man of his age trying to act like in his 20's. That's the staying age of music, once you get to a certain age, you are over.

Yep, you have to notice all of the songs where he had others "featured" on the song. Those were the real hits, not his own stuff.
Plus, even his own stuff pilfered music from The Police and Led Zepplin.
