It would have to be Ben Folds without a doubt.. easily the best piano player playin these days. His confidence and touch is simply amazing..
anyone who can just bring a piano on tour with him and thats it is simply talented at the instruement.. plus he's an amazing songwriter. Important fact: He played every instrument on Rock'n The Suburbs

Bruce Hornsby first and foremost (listen to his albums Spirit Trail or Hot House to see why)- he's the best pianist in popular music, and as good as the classical greats

I forgot George Duke. Have you heard any of his early '70s solo stuff? (Faces In Reflection, Feel, The Aura Will Prevail) And David Sancious. When "Transformation: Speed of Love" came out in '76, I thought HE could be the new Hendrix.

I love George Duke's "The Aura Will Prevail", But, "Feel" might be my all time favorite album of his..... Have you checked out Frank Zappa playing mean guitar on the track," Love"(appearing under the Psuedonym," Obdewl X ") and I also love the title track!! But I think this is the only album , once again that didn't get reissued on CD-- most of the other early albums including "Aura" and " I Love the Blues..She Heard My Cry"were available either as German or Japanese imports... ...And You're right, David Sancious is a Bad MF on Guitar, as well as keyboards! (I forgot to give him a shout out on the other thread...)
