Who thinks that R. Kelly's 1998 album, R. is his best album ever? I bought R. Kelly's R. this year. I think it's his masterwork. The songs were tight and the whole album was very classy. This double-disc album has R. Kelly doing varied styles and sounds. I think it's the Songs In The Key Of Life of the 90's. I think he should've got a Grammy for Album Of The Year "R." It least it became his best-selling record ever. What do you think of the album? Post your opinions. Check me out and add me on:

Definitely his best album to date, but it's no "Songs In The Key Of Life". I mean this R KELLY we're talking about! He'll never have a freckle of Stevie's talent. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

That double CD was his best by far. I used to play the hell outta it my freshman year in college.

I thought all R Kelly albums we're clones from the other ones, so how can this one be his best? the beautiful ones, you always seem to loose

Funny, I hear a lot of R fans say this but I don't remember a single song from the entire thing & I've never been interested in buying it Heard a friend of mine playing it day & night & was never impressed w/ it. Of the ones I have I'll say TP2 is best, I'll probaby never buy the double album...

I really think The Chocolate Factory is probably his best. But R comes really close. Disk one of R by itself makes for a very close second. If disk two didn't have a few fillers on it, I would probably rate it as his best.

Nah his best album was "Born into the 90's" with public announcment! Has one of my all time favs ever-"She's got that vibe"! Y didn't he keep trying uptempo's as he was damn good at them!
"If i could turn back the hands of time" is gorgeous and in my view is a timeless track! Remember "U r not alone" he wrote 4 Jacko? I actually prefer the other Jacko track he wrote "Cry" from jacko's "Invivncable" album in 2001! Oh yeah and R kelly ripped Guy member Arron halls voice copmpletely at first (though Aarons is ripped from Charlie wilson so.....) I thinbk R kelly did Jodeci's type ballad mixed with Guys funky swing on "Born ito the 90's", then he found his own groove which to me mostly got stale quickly! Oh yeah "Bump and grind" is a classic too!
