Larry Carlton Is the Man!! How is Holdsworth's None Too Soon? I always wanted to pick that up... Don't have the 12". I taped the tune to learn it off of a bandmate's Lifeline lp. Always dug LC. Just a master of restraint, taste, tone and melody. Never fails to play just the right notes at the right time. Kind of like a less raw Robben Ford. If that makes any sense. I bought None Too Soon because he was playing in more of a swing than rock setting. Also was curious to hear him cover Coltrane's Countdown. The only letdown was that the sidemen could have been better. I still dig it. Some hardcore Holdsworth fans don't. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all." | |
