This Meshells Jazz set reflecting the as yet unreleased Pappilon jazz record...i've heard that this set is full of inspiring, freeflowing, pulsating and perculating tunes and performances...its not her normaly amazing 'funk/soul/whatever-genre-ya-can-think-of' band, but rather a different, but no less impressive, improvisational jazz band with a variety cross cultural textures weaving through the all-instrumental compostions, truly inspired challenging stuff...

I believe its only $15 bucks too...

I can't wait for her to release this album! I caught this set in New Orleans, I believe the name of the band she's playing with is "The Spirit Music Sextet".

I'm very much looking forward to hearing this live set...especially excited that its gonna be right here in town too...(usually i have to travel a bit to catch one of her gigs...its always worth it though

Uhhh... since Maverick got bought out by Warners. Does she still have a home there?

Heard about her putting out a jazz album. Also knew about her going to the "friday concert series" in Richmond. Those are actually good shows every Friday in the summer. I"m hoping she'll come to a small club in Philly sometime in the near future.

not sure about when/where/if the Jazz record will still come out though, last i heard they hadn't given up on releasing it as well...
