The Pointer Sisters were jamming on the job from day one with "Yes We Can Can" through their many hits. Those ladies can sing all sorts of music from jazz to pop.
I'm sorry to hear about the various things they have gone through but bless them and let's hope things get better.

though lots of their output would be filed under AT40 fodder, yes! I have most of them albums. great versatile voices. problem with many albums: if you wanted some Pointers you also had to buy that Richard Perry production, which was not almost the ehmmm... most soulful around
anyway they have a great tracklist Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

My favorite jam by them is "You Gotta Believe" from the Car Wash soundtrack. The Pointer Sisters took it to church on that track!!!

nope. I don't own any of their stuff (most likely due to the age deal) but I wouldn't mind a donation.... "Pedro offers you his protection."

I have a really good import collection titled "Legendary Pointer Sisters" and it includes all their hits and then some RCA years (all the stuff they did as a trio, I assume). I really enjoy it and the price is really good for a 3 cd import so look for it if you don't have anything from them. I'll evantually buy something with their early hits.

I do! I do! I have a greatest hits comp that's still in its wrapper. "Fire" is hot. I like "Automatic" too. And I remember when they used to rock it 40's style. In the "I'm So Excited" video there's a shot of June stepping from a bubble bath and if you blink you miss some pubic hair action. Well, at least, that's what it always looked like to me. Oh, and I loved Bonnie Pointer's "Heaven Must Have Sent You."

Same here. I could put that one on repeat for a couple of hours. "Chick on the Side" comes in as runner-up.
