You've definitely given the impression of a strong Madonna dislike. DavidEye's willingness to continue debating seems in line with showing an alternate viewpoint to me, and not a reluctance to accept the "truth". What "truth"? The truth that he likes Madonna and you don't? Bottom line, you two are discussing personal opinions, and that's all it is -- your own personal truth. For every fact that either of you has, the other has an equally valid fact to counter it. Big deal. That said, you know DavidEye is right, don't you?   There's tons of artists that I like, but I'm an opinionated person and I'm not going to stick up for everything they do....especially if I don't particularly care for it. I love everything Madonna did before "Music" and "American Life" (I still listen to my "Dick Tracy" soundtrack)....both of which aren't horribly bad; they just don't do anything for me. I love some Prince, but I hated "The Rainbow Children". Who the hell told Prince that the demonic-sounding voice was a good idea to use for the entire album?  It went from being disturbing, to being annoying, to seriously ticking me off before I had reached track 6. Just because I pick out the pros and cons of an artist that I listen to, doesn't mean that I dislike that person. It is possible to not like something that your favorite artists does. I think it's scary if you do like everything. You don't want to get me started on how I feel about some of Mariah's and Whitney's stuff.  I've followed them for their entire careers. Who lied to Mariah and told her that "Glitter" was good?; why are Whitney's Producers telling her that her singing on that last album was on-point?; and if Micheal releases one more damn hits album.  Yeah, they all push my buttons at some point in time, but I still loves 'em all.  DavidEye always has very accurate information. Well, except for that Billboard one which is over a month old. But, he's right that Maddy was number one for the first two weeks of her tour, but that was almost a month ago. Celine has top honors for last week, but tomorrow is another day. Her being an idiot is news to people???
She's based her whole career off of Prince. New look, new 'do every album, tried to get into movies after Purple Rain hit it big (I know VisionQuest was before this, but she only made an appearance, she didn't try to act in it). ....and yet she has the highest-grossing tour of the year. I don't know why people are going so nuts over this. So she wants to be called Esther in private - why does that matter, exactly? It's not like Warners is gonna have to reprint all her discs and promo material with "Esther" in place of "Madonna" - you won't have to go buy an "Esther" CD. Prince has done way more eccentric stuff but he isn't an idiot. Shhhhheeeit behind Prince's tour. Check the reciepts at the end of the year. P will do a lot more shows than Maddass!
