I thought the same thing at first! But they still tour as "5 " They've reissued the song "System Addict" and it's being recieved really well. #1 on some chart or rather. And there's been talk of all 5 siblings rejoining! Last album was called "Eclipse". It's really good! also go here: 5 STAR

Five Star's career peaked in the states around 1986 when you were only four years old. I had their first album on vinyl which I thought was alright (I've since sold it on ebay). "Love Take Over" was on it. Their biggest hit was the single "Can't Wait Another Minute" from their second U.S. album. I think it went to #41 on the pop charts or something. I wouldn't mind having their greatest hits collection on CD.

5 Star are and always were complete and utter shit. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I love their 1986 hit "Let Me Be The One" from their debut album...
"We used to be together Making dreams, making plans But you left that world behind So,now I'm asking you... Won't you Let Me Be The One...you give your love to Let Me Be The One...you give your love to" Damn,I seriously need to get their Greatest Hits CD

Lovely to see a bit of '80's nostalgia. 5-Star were quite big in the '80's, and it's not hard to see why:
Big hair, fashion of the times, corny yet somewhat catchy pop songs...what did this equal? Pure '80's pop! But to anyone who may diss them, remember, in the '80's they were considered GREAT. Afterall, they were right at home there. For what it's worth I was hooked on this particular track ("Love Take Over"). Had the single on vinyl. The B-side, "Let's Stay In Touch" (...was the title if I remember correctly) was a sweet little track (instrumental) with a nice piano hook. Still have the LP somewhere... It brings back memories. "Let Me Be The One" was another favourite.... with standard '80's sax soloing midway through the track....irresistible! Rock on '80's!!!

If I remember correctly, Five Star had three top 10 R&B hits in the states: "Let Me Be The One," "Love Take Over" and "Can't Wait Another Minute," the last one going as high as #2(?). They never had a top 40 hit, the closest being "Can't Wait" which peaked at #41. This is all from memory since I don't have my Billboard books with me at work. I'll give you the correct chart positions when I go home and look them up tonight.
