Jackson 5 New Album? New World Tour?

http://www.hellomagazine....cksonfive/
Talk of a Jackson 5 reunion has been in the pipeline for years, but now it seems it may actually happen. Apparently troubled Thriller singer Michael, who is currently facing child abuse charges, is to get back together with his siblings for a new album and a world tour.

Also being mooted is a West End show tracing the boys' stratospheric rise from small-town beginnings in Gary, Indiana, to superstardom.

“This is the first time since the album Victory in 1984 where all the Jacksons have a reunion and release an album together as the Jacksons once again,” says Jermaine Jackson, now 49. “With the album and musical going ahead, the next step would be to follow it with a world tour.” Jermaine, Michael and siblings Tito, 50, Marlon, 49, and Jackie, 53, enjoyed a string of hits in the Seventies.

Also hooked up again after a gap of nearly 30 years are former musical duo Simon and Garfunkel. The Bridge Over Troubled Waters singers, who split up acrimoniously in 1970, are scheduled to release their first new song together since their estrangement.

Due to tour the UK this summer, after cementing a renewal of their friendship with a joint performance at the 2003 Grammys, the pair will play Hyde Park in London, Manchester’s MEN Arena and a Dublin venue next month.

I personally want MJ do a solo album and a solo tour. I think those Jackson kids finished their money and wanna tour again. Just like when they did in 1984. Katherine forced Michael to join in 1984 I hope same thing doesnt happen again. But it may be a rumour. Coz they say they will reunite almost every year. So whatcha all think?

nothing would be more sad. even michael looks winded these days when he does the rare live performance...could you imagine how ridiculous his siblings would look after years of not performing.

oh wait...we did see how ridiculous they looked back in september of 2001, when the jackson 5 reunited for mj's 30th anniversary special.

I hear this is true. And the timing makes sense based on the current trend of reunion tours. Plus, didn't the brother reunite for some special concerts MJ put on at Madison Square Garden a couple years ago? I saw the Victory Tour in '84 - and it was cool to see them all together again - but I think part of MJ's agreement to tour was his getting to perform some of his solo stuff sans the brothers on stage.

I enjoyed the performance. It was good for comical reasons, and seeing them all back together again. I think some of it was live but come on now MJ was lip syncing a bit. Thats y he kept covering his face lol . His dancing is still pretty good he should just tighten it up a bit more. NSync werent that bad but overall the performance was just ok for me. Dont think Id see the tour tho if its gonna happen.

Please elaborate smile

I don't think it will happen. This seems just to be Jermaine's wet dream. I wouldn't fight it if they wanted to make another albm together though. Especially if it's anywhere near as good as there first 4 albums as The Jacksons.

Hey they would do a great album but touring is just impossible for them. I dont wanna remember those guys as fat jerks trying to dance. I wanna remember them as stage rockers like they were in 84.

Anyway I still expect a solo album and a solo tour from mj.

Tito and Randy are the only fat ones. And they ain't really fat, just big boned lol
There performance at MSG was great as far as I am concerned. Live instrumentation, great songs, energetic performances, no lip synching. Just great to see the brothers together again. Brought back good memories.

As for an MJ album and tour... you'll be waiting a while i'm afraid.

never gonna happen.
Jermaine is ALWAYS talking about it, MJ won't do it. I really can't see it happening!!

MJ aint gonna have anything out till after this court case or late 2005, he said himself he only brings an album out every 5/6 years. Vince was 2001.

He also said that he doesn't want to do pop album after pop album. I think he wants to branch out. Movie soundtracks may be all we get from MJ for a while. I guess time will tell.

some good news:

source: foxnews.com

Jacko: Will Release Boxed Set Before Trial

Some defendants make sure their appearance at trial is preceded by only the most serious public profile, low key behavior, and as little self promotion as possible.

Not Michael Jackson. With his trial for child molestation set to begin officially on September 13, Jackson will first release a boxed set of greatest hits, remixes, and rarities in late August, I learned yesterday.

The three or four CD set, including four new songs and lots of hard-to-find material, is still being assembled. But sources tell me that it's a go for release around Labor Day, at the latest.

"It can't come out during the trial," my source said, "and it's not going to come out after the trial, that's for sure. So they have no choice but to get it out right before the trial."

The package — which will trace Jackson's history post-Jackson 5 through the present — is key in the pop singer's contractual life. It will be his final release on Epic Records as part of his
long term deal with Sony Music.

They're just going to re-package the hits... AGAIN! I'm so sick of this shit. When are we going to get a REAL box set?

Under normal circumstances, this release would be cause for celebration. But with the trial on the way,it's hard to get excited about this project.

Within 4 years, you are going to see a Jackson family tour that will even include Janet. As much as I have dug Michael and Janet over the years, I think the end is at hand. That tour will be the the sign it is truely over.
