You know, according to Chris Rock, the "greasiest" Jackson. (and I don't mean bass playing) DAMN!!! Have you seen the "Jacksons" bit on his new HBO special "Never Scared"? He pulls NO punches. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE MENTIONED BROWN MARK. I KNOW HE PLAYED WITH PRINCE, BUT MARK IS COLD! HE TOOK PRINCE'S BASSLINES TO ANOTHER LEVEL LIVE. BOOTSY IS MY FAVE, THEN LARRY, THEN JAMES JAMERSON AND BERNARD. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

OK, Who do You all think was Prince's best Bass Player? Which one do you think added the most to Prince's music?(besides Prince) Rhonda. The woman is amazingly quick and articulate. She has a knack for staying in the pocket, ripping some nasty runs and then fleeing right back into the pocket. I like her tone and her versatility. Her upright and fretless work is amazing. I think she might be the most comprehensive player ever employed by Prince.

I was surprised actually when I saw P at the House Of Blues and at The Staple Center in March. Great pocket. But I as far as Prince's best bass players, Brown Mark hands down. He's one of the best thumpers around. And seriously, who could dance step for step with Prince during When Doves Cry live and still thump and slap AND be in the pocket besides Brown Mark. They did this every night during the Purple Rain tour. Mark was the shit. Hell, Prince couldn't do that dance step and slang on the bass at the same time! Speaking o' bass players, anyone heard of Paul Falloon? He's credited on Robert Miles and Trilok Gurtu's latest collaboration, Miles Gurtu. I went out with a guy at school by this name and he played some MEAN bass. I know he went on to do session stuff. Wondered if he was one and the same. Distance is to love, as a breeze is to a flame…
