Got my copy. The album's a masterpiece, but the extra tracks are a little wanting, I think. Not sure if this is because all the great material went into the album, but who really needs a re-recording of "Rebel Rebel" or an "Intimacy Mix" of "Candidate"? The rest of the tracks have already been released. Great informative booklet and packaging - a miniature gatefold sleeve housed in a slipcase, as opposed to the previous hardbound book look of the previous 30th Anniversary Editions are great.

Both "David Live" and "Stage" will be reissued later this year, and "Young Americans" is getting the deluxe treatment next year.

Bought the album today, haven't listened to the bonustracks yet.
I think i already have most of them on the Ryko release from 1990.

But after seeing bowie play amsterdam yesterday I have a new thirst for all things Bowie, even worse than normal.

He was absolutely briliant ast night, just too bad he had to stop at 23.00 hours.
Ron Wood was also there, he was watching his daughter play support from the side of the stage and he was also watching Bowie.
He didn't make an appearance on stage though.
WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

it's about time "stage" got reissued again. that album is one of my favorite live albums by anybody. thanks to finding a beat-up copy of this album in my local library when i was a kid, i got turned on to the eno-era bowie albums. the live versions of "blackout" and "beauty and the beast" are just amazing to me, even after two decades of listening to this album.

Yeah, hugely underrated live album. "Station To Station", "Fame", "TVC15" are near definitive versions. Well worth checking out some bootlegs from the 1978 tour too, if you're really into the album.

does anyone know if bowie has any definitive bootleg collections like prince's works collections? i've heard he has loads of unreleased studio and live stuff that is really great, but I haven't got my hands on anything...

yeah, there's stuff out there, but it's not as well-circulated as the prince stuff. though if you can manage to hunt it down, there's a really amazing soundcheck bootleg from 1976 when he was doing his "thin white duke" station to station tour (and i HEAR you can find this on video as well as audio-only formats).

i missed out on the ryko "diamond dogs" reissue, so most of the bonus stuff on this 2CD set is new to me. how much am i loving the alternate version of "candidate", even though it bears precious little resemblence to the officially released version? drool "dodo" and "growin up" are awfully nice, too. the packaging on this isn't quite as schmancy as the other 30th anniversary re-releases, but i appreciate them reproducing the original album gatesleeve for the CD dustjackets...not to mention my 30th anniversary "ziggy stardust" book is ALREADY falling apart, and i've opened it under ten times, certainly...hopefully this one will live a longer and healthier life. all in all though, they're four for four with these anniversary reissues - i've yet to be dissatisfied with any of 'em!
