I believe she is the next Diana Ross as far as Beyonce distancing herself from her girl group past. Beyonce's solo debut spawned three blockbuster hits that are doing incredible damage on TV, radio and in the clubs: "Crazy In Love," "Baby Boy" and "Naughty Girl." Her album came out a year ago and it's still reaking havoc on the charts. She has a smart production team, an ever smarter father, her mom's guiding her look, her P.R. isn't tarnished and she has a semi-wholesome (for this generation anyway) image.

I expect this girl to do damage for a longgg time.I used to be a Beyonce hater like many back in the now-you-see-'em-now-you-don't days of the Destiny's Child group member search era, but the public, and myself included, have moved past that. She's a star that is still rising and I expect bigger things from her. Like it or not, this is only the beginning, folks.

I have no problem with Beyonce.....yeah yeah she can sing better than any of the young current pop singers out now.(IMO) But like the Guitar Player article w/ Prince.....why is he puttin' her in the same sentence with Ella Fitzgerald...sayin' that people/musicians can learn from singers like Beyonce. Like I said before, Beyonce can sing, but I think ppl. give her WAY TOO MUCH credit.

Okay, as pretty as she may be, i wish people would quit giving her credit for being some sort of amazing artist/musician. I don't like her voice, her songs are garbage and I don't know who's voice people are hearing when they listen to her sing because she cant. Janet may not have the best voice but i don't see anyone like beyonce replacing her or anyone else for that matter. she's just what's hot now and that's just cause she is slowly but surely losing her clothes. before it was we (destiny's child) don't show our bodies like that if we show leg we cover the top and if we show cleavage we don't show legs but on her first single she threw all that out the window. and you know what she had to b/c in that work it out video when she only showed her tummy critics ripped her but in crazy in love when it was look at me hump JayZ's leg and grind on the ground she became hot and sexy...all in all...I think her voice is trash and i'll be glad when people realize that and stop playing her crap.

sorry for the negativity

Actually, her voice can be REALLY good when she uses it properly & on songs that aren't crap. Sure, she tends to over do it w/ the vocal acrobatics but if you've ever seen her perform "Dangerously In Love" live, you might change your mind. The few times I've seen her calm down enough to just let the melody flow w/o chaos, it's pretty fuckin' beautiful...

beyonce is a great talent. she has a tremendously powerful voice. she can really move and groove. and she's a beautiful woman to look at. she could easily become this generation's janet jackson in my humble opinion. both aren't musicians; both highly depend on the productionskills of others. but they both have enough to contribute to their projects.
