Duran Duran... but they aren't just an 80's band. They came out in 78 and even had hits in the 90s.

I saw Cameo on Memorial Day at the Stone Soul Picnic. Larry Blackmon has the same getup: hat with matching codpiece. They were a pleasant surprise.

As for my fave 80's bands:

Hardcore:
Duran Duran (got me into a lot of trouble, but they made my teen years)
New Edition (I still want to marry Ricky Bell, can anybody find him for me)?
Wham (Yeah I must admit I was into them as well. It's really not as embarrasing as peeps are trying to make it)

Genuinely Appreciated at the time:
The Police
Culture Club
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."
