TLC-Weren't they just great!?!

I just digged out CrazySexyCool today and it struck me how much Lisa 'Lefteye' Lopes' death hit me and how much I miss the fact they no longer will be making music. I don't know why it hit me so much because I was never a huge fan despite liking them very much.

As opposed to say Destiny's Child and the other ten penny R n' B girl bands, I liked TLC's attitude. There was something a bit edgy and sassy about them and they individually brought something to the band.

There tunes were/are great too. Creep is a fantastic song in any given genre of music or example.

Anyone feel what I'm saying?

First album was kickin' in the Newjack groove, which i love! Hard to believe they started off as a female Bell Biv Devoe! (You remember "Poison" and "Do me" don't ya?)

"Ain't to proud to beg" is still slammin'! Good words too, good message. Liked their goofy clothing back then! (check video)

The condom eye patch was very wacky in a great way! No shame in their game, which is what I liked about the group.

I still think their best album was Fanmail.. Had something 4 everyone. Crazy Sexy Cool was a bit mellow, but it was a great album. I really dug Oooh On The TLC Tip although some1 stole it from me. and 3D was cool 2..but it is empty w/o Lisa.

I really really will miss them.

I remember when they were compared to BBD,it's funny their careers went much further then their male counterparts....yeah they will be sadly missed.

TLC was just one of those groups that went against what was expected, which is why I loved them soo much. They had their arguments, but still managed to stick together until death...Destiny's Child, are you taking notes? They had staying power. I watched their "Behind the Music" and it was happy, sad, angry, and funny all rolled into one...just like their music. They kept it real the entire 10+ years they were together and that's rare. They talked about being strong females and you could tell by their presonal lives that their music imitated life. They didn't put up with any mess from anybody. They'll be greatly missed.

I agree. I miss all the early and mid-90's artists. I can't buy the new EnVogue album, because I liked them when they had four strong women....it's not the same with just three of them. sad

I loved all the early-90s R&B acts. Jade En Vogue SWV Mary J Blidge they were all great. TLC were easily the best. What About Your Friends is so hot and "Get It Up" too. I have all their albums and they are all great including the underrated 3D. I recently bought the hits DVD which is also great although it misses some of the videos

All 3 of the women in TLC seemed like really cool people, not just money hungry talentless oversexed bubbleheads. They were certainly much more mature for their age than whats out now, and all 3 of them complemented eachother nicely. I miss TLC.

Thanks for the tip, i didn't know there was a greatest hits collection and it's cool to see they added some tracks not on the albums.

yeah, I hate to admit it (because I always dug T-Boz) but Left Eye was the personality behind the songs. The tracks on 3-D without her vocals, though good, they just miss that flair. Left-Eye, Aaliyah...we miss you.

Lisa is on Jeramine Jacksons "Word to the badd", (1991) repeating said phrase, plus I guess she wrote Jermaines rap part!

Also raps on "Reversal of a dog", a moster track from "Boomerang" soundtrack! (1992) Remember that cut, it slammed hard! Plus T-Boz was on a verse too.

T-boz sounds great on "Waterfalls" doesn't she! They were a girl group with a sense of humour! Iam sure the other groups do too, but their boring image gets in the way! TLC did what they liked and matured into a monster! I still love their first album though!

Lisa had oddles of charisma on screena and on record, I like the other 2 members, but she had the most flair and really was 1 in a million!

TLC were also in "House Party 3" as a group called "Sex as a weapon"! Remember that TLC fans?
