Motown books

Can any1 recommend any good Motown sites which have lots of information on Motown and any good Motown books. I read in J Randy Taraborrelli's biography of Michael Jackson he accessed a wide range of information on Motown included session costs, list of all songs recorded at Hitsville USA, press releases, memo's, sales figures, financial information etc. and anything else Motown related.

I was wondering where would this information b found?. I would like 2 know this information as in the future I would like 2 write a study/book about Motown as I am a big fan of the 'Motown Sound' and Motown artists past and present like Stevie, Jackson 5, Smokey, Marvin, Four Tops, Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Isleys, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Boyz II Men, Johnny Gill and all the other great Motown singers/groups.

Thanx in advance!

If some1 assists me with finding the information than I'd very much like 2 write a very detailed book/study about Motown and how and why it's so successful. Most of this can b said 2 b bcuz of the great songs written by Holland-Dozier-Holland, Berry Gordy, Stevie, Smokey and all the other great songwriters who wrote all the Motown hits and ofcourse the artists themselves.

If u wanna copy of the book than u can buy it @ the bookstore like every1 else wink lol

Don't know all of the books but, out of the ones I read, I liked these:

*To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown -An Autobiography
by Berry Gordy

Where Did Our Love Go?: The Rise and Fall of the Motown Sound
by Nelson George

Standing in the Shadows of Motown : The Life and Music of Legendary Bassist James Jamerson
by Dr. Licks, Allen Slutsky
James Jamerson --- the embodiment of the Motown spirit and groove - he and the other "Funk Brothers" were the 'invisible' musicians whose playing inspired thousands... This was written in 1989, the 2002 documentary of the same name(now on dvd) tells the story of all the "Funk Brothers"

Motown: The View from the Bottom
by Jack Ashford
reminisces from one of Motowns top musicians...

Marvin Gaye: What's Going On and the Last Days of the Motown Sound
by Ben Edmonds, Ben Edmunds
...actually all about the recording of Marvin's epic "What's Goin On" album...

Divided Soul: The Life of Marvin Gaye
by David Ritz
Still the best of the Many Marvin Gaye Biographies...

Stevie Wonderby John Swenson

The Stevie Wonder Scrapbook
by James Haskins

Many Thanks 4 the list of books. I have Berry Gordy's autobiography and its very interesting. J Randy Taraborrelli also wrote a book about Motown in 1986 and was wondering if any1 has read that and if that is worth buying?.
