'lucky' most overlooked album of the year?

hi

I just finished listening to M. Etheridge's latest cd 'lucky' and it again struck me how seriously great it is. Yet, even though there was a short hype at it's release, it's reception has been less then average. The single 'breathe' (wich really outdoes the already great original) should have shot to n1. in weeks, but didn't. I think this album is so far the best release this year and it's a great return to her early work, so my question: why is this album being close to ignored while everything...say...Beyonce 'I killed R&b' Knowles...releases goes platinum?

You know, these days it's all about surface and artifice.

There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

thumbs up! Lucky is a great album. nod

I love Melissa Ethridge. Her albums are always underrated. confused Her album 'SKIN' should've gotten much more attention than it did. Her last dvd 'Live and Alone' is really good. You should check it out. biggrin

I'm with you on that one. I LOVE this album. I saw her 4-night stand at Roseland in NYC, & on Saturday night, she performed every song from the album (for a DVD release). I was so mad that she did not do some of the songs every night. Come On Out Tonight was just made to be performed live, but she only did it Saturday night. Every time I listen to the album, I think every song could be a great single. If You Want To better be released as a single, because I think it would be amazing at radio. I can just imagine hearing it on the Top 40 stations.

My favorite tracks are Secret Agent & Kiss Me.

I guess I know what I'm listening to This Moment...I mean this weekend. smile
