Sigur Ros

This is simply one of the most beautiful, haunting, lifting stunning albums I've heard in a long ass time. Don't sleep on this album, it's absolutely magnificent

Sigur Ros is amazing. Is everyone in Iceland an insane musical genius?

And if you ever get a chance, check out Sigur Ros' videos. I won't spoil them for you by describing them, but they're truly some of the most amazing videos I've ever seen in my life - beautiful, taboo-breaking, disturbing and sweet all at the same time.

Yup - they rock.

I saw them live last Setember at Massey Hall in Toronto. It was probably the most incredible show I've ever seen.

Hmm,

I saw them open for Radiohead in 2000 and they bored the hell out of me. It might have been the lousy acoustics, but everything sounded exactly the same to me. Also, no stage presence whatsoever. They stood there virtually motionless without the slightest acknowledgement of the crowd.

I'm willing to check out their album though. I've heard so many people say good stuff about them that I guess it must be worth a listen.
