Does she do 'Hollywood" and "Love Profusion"?

A remix of "Hollywood" is played while Madonna's changing costumes. There's a breakdancer,a skateboarder and another dancer who perform during this segment.

"Love Profusion" wasn't performed, but I heard that it will appear later in the tour, when it will replace "Crazy For You".

I just saw the show last night, and I'll eventually write a detailed review (probably after I see the next two shows on June 8 and June 9).

So,what were your highlights from the show? These are my favoirite parts...

*** Nobody Knows Me ---I just love the way Maddy dances during this song! And she's up there, all alone without her dancers,it's just a really effective performance.

*** Deeper And Deeper ---I LOVE the way this song was "re-invented"!! I wish she would do an entire segment where she sings several songs in a lush, jazzy setting. It was so refreshing to hear the song this way.

*** Die Another Day ---the choreography is AMAZING!!

*** Nothing Fails ---this is a very simple performance....Maddy on the left side of the stage, strumming an acoustic guitar. But man,it was such a lovely performance, stripped down and extremely heartfelt. The audience LOVES this song, and it seemed like the entire arena was singing along with her during the refrain "I'm not religious...".

*** Burning Up ---Maddy picks up a guitar and totally rocks out to this song!! I was going nuts!

*** Like A Prayer ---expectedly,this was one of the many highlights.I think the general consensus is...Maddy had BETTER include this song on all future tours! It should become a Madonna concert staple. The audience went berserk when she was singing it.

Speaking of the audience, did you notice that it was "standing room only"? Nearly EVERYONE stood up during the entire show.I've gone to dozens of concerts and I can honestly say that THIS was probably the most enthusisastic crowd I had ever seen at a concert. Can't wait til tonight!!

the remix of music was hot and i loved the tribal holiday. papa don't preach was done really well i thought. I think Sideah looks better on stage than Niki did. Niki i thought always looked out of place

hmm
You got me thinking... I noticed the back up singers (Niki & Siedah) weren't hugely a part of the show as in past tours with Donna & Niki. Usually Madonna has them doing a full number (incl. choreography) with her. "Causing A Commotion" 1990, "Rain" 1993, "Beautiful Strnager" 2001...to name a couple. I wonder if the chemistry between Niki and Siedah was a bit dull. I hardly even noticed them. lol

I just got back from the second San Jose show, and I was thinking the same thing. This time around, the background singers aren't really featured alot. Also, did you notice that her female dancers are only featured on a couple of songs? The male dancers dominate the show, lol. But it was nice hearing Siedah do that awesome solo during "Like A Prayer".She's a great vocalist and I hope she appears on future Madonna tours.

There were female dancers? confuse

lol Yeah.
noticed that as well. But a completely different show than any of the ones before. Re-invent..she sure did. It was nice to see just MADONNA on a few numbers, i.e. "Nobody Knows Me", "Burning UP", "Nothing Fails".. She could've been the only performer on stage and it still would've been the best show ever!!!

Songs I would've liked to seen added though:

"Lucky Star"
"Love Profusion"
"Angel"
"Take A Bow"/"You'll See"

Could've made the show just a bit longer. I see why it may be a little short. It's an extreme set up with a lot going on. And she's on 1 song after then next non-stop. No Dance interludes (or not as many as before). Damn..I've got to find a way to se it again. sad bawl

I agree, the show really could have been longer. After singing "Music" and "Hoiiday",she should have came back and did a kickass encore of "Like A Virgin. That song was sorely missing from this show.Or,the encore could have been a medley of several songs ("Like A Virgin","Dress You Up" and "Cherish").The audience would have gone berserk.

btw,who exactly is "Chico1" and what have you done with "Chico319"? lol

nod

I agree. Though I like the "Holiday"/"Music" or "Music"/"Holiday" giggle encores from the last two tours. But for this one...though not an entirely 'greatest hits' tour; I think an updated version of "Like A Virgin" would've fit nicely inbetween those two songs. Maybe an electro-house version mixed with "What It Feels Like For A Girl". hmmm
"Ray Of Light" and "Amazing" would've been nice editions as well.

lol That's it..I think we need to produce Madonna's future tours ! lol

Some more observations on the show...

***The new video for "Bedtime Story" is just amazing, isn't it? My friend says that Maddy has never looked sexier than she does in this video.

***During the performance of "American Life",we see footage from the controverial video, but the footage here is much more extreme and shocking than the bootlegged video that leaked out last year. For example, during the fashion show,we now see an (Iraqi?) man walking down the runway, covered in blood. And the shots of Bush and Saddam smoking a cigar together and hugging each other?? This stuff was nowhere to be found in the "American Life" video that I seen! Kinda makes you wanna see the full,un-edited 10-minute version, doesn't it? LOL

***Hopefully,at tonight's show,I will catch her T-shirt when she throws it into the audience. You know, the black T-shirt that says "Kabbalists Do It Better" lol

Donna and Siedah did papa don't preach and were on stage for deeper and deeper i think they aren't noticed as much cause Madonna wants it to be about her and Niki was always a aham

I WANNA SEE HER SO BAD!!!!!

I love Madonna as much as a straight man is allowed to by law!!! She was my first real, pre-teen crush!! I was sooo in love with her in Junior high, and I still think she is awesome! I've never seen her in concert before, and that makes me so sad! I'm jealous of all y'all getting to see her, but I'm happy for you too!!
