CrozzaUK said: OK, you definitely definitely have to buy Love is Hell by Ryan Adams. It was initially 2 EPs but it is now released as a single album. It is absolutely stunning. Not a bad track on there and a pure example of beautifully crafted songwriting. I could name around 9 amazing songs on there.
Either that one or the Scissor Sisters album which is completely different, but almost as good. Its camp 70's elton john inspired pop / dance / funk music that is guarenteed to get you hooked. Great songs and a great image. The Scissor Sisters album is fantastic. There isn't one bad song on the whole album. As Crozza said it has that 70's Elton feel, mixed with disco and some great ballads. You really should get this.

Queen II is one of the best albums I've ever heard, everyone should on it. The only Queen album better is the one released after it, Sheer Heart Attack, so I guess thats the one everyone should own.

Nice suggestion.. one of the best cd's to come out of 2003.. Beautiful this suggestion kinda caught me off guard too. Wasn't expecting to see that name flying around in here. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

Neil Hannon classic crooning: I guess Musicology has put me in a retro kind of mood I really, really love the Divine Comedy - his new album remains unheard by me, but I'll likely pick it up this weekend. I like the latest album by the High Llamas called Beet, Maize and Corn - it's very mellow Steely Dan/Brian Wilson-ish pop. I'd given up on this band - they released two fairly classic if derivative albums albums in the mid-nineties, but seemed to tail off after that. I think this new album is a real return to form. It's a real shame that music like this tends not to get the respect it deserves - I hate to sound like an old crank, but well written songs just don't seem to matter if you're not an obnoxious rapper or a brooding, shirtless arena rocker.

Esthero Breath from Another
Garmanrna Vegeance Sorry, I can't define this genre. Esthero and Garmanrna blend ambience, deep house, soul/alternative vocals with illusionary lyrics that is just mind boggling. Verve Mixed/Unmixed Verve Mixed/Unmixed 2 The Verve collections is an awesome study of how to liven classics with out distorting them. I suggest buying both versions of each volume. You'll hear the classic Verve recording by such vocalists as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, and Dinah Washington. Then the latest DJ's remix them but not in the normal sense. The songs have been updated but damn near sound like the orignals. _________________________________________
