This list was posted on a Stevie Wonder fansite. The link is now gone...good thing I printed it out when I saw it several months ago.Not sure how many of these songs are circulating on bootleg, but I bet that most of these songs are securely locked in Stevie's vaults.Wouldn't it be amazing if he released a multi-disc box set containing these songs?

A song 'Gore and Lieberman' might exist - I can't see it having much chart success though!

Is this known to have been written and performed or might it just be a recording of his live version of the American National Anthem / Lift Every Voice and Sing medley he sang at the Los Angeles Democrat Convention for the two noninees in August 2000?
.
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

lol yeah,it's apparently a song that was written for Al Gore's candicacy in 2000.Not sure if a studio version exists...it might be part of that live medley you mentioned.Interestingly,Stevie also wrote a song for Hillary Clinton in 1999.During the Monica Lewinsky ordeal,he visited the White House, sat at the piano, and played a new song exclusively for Hillary. It was about forgiveness. She mentions it in her book.

btw,the "Barbra Walters Song" is just a little track he composed on piano during a 1979 "20/20" interview. He played the song for Barbra while she was interviewing him.

I also remember in the early 70s,Stevie appeared on "Soul Train" and he just sat at the piano and played a wonderful new song that he had just created. It's just incredible the way he came up with songs, seemingly on-the-spot.

Yeah, I remember seeing that clip about two years ago when Motown was airing some special featuring highlights of all their most prominent artists (Curtis, Marvin, Stevie, etc) from back in the day and today. Aretha and Smokey Robinson were doing an improv at the piano of "Ooo Baby Baby" and ReRe was playin' and singin' that thang!!!!! clapping

I also have a tape of Stevie Wonder and Wonderlove from around '73 on Seseme Street (back when they were airing all of their classic episodes on Nogin-dont' ask. lol)

BTW, did you know that "Overjoyed" was actully slated to appear on Journey, but Stevie felt it didn't match the rest of the album and took it out at last minute? No wonder it kind of feels "out-of-place" so to speak on In Square Circle.

When the network first came on, they used to air all of the classic Seseme Street episodes in it's entirity and called it Seseme Unpaved. My sister just recently told me that Seseme Too incorporates a lot of the old material with the new which works really well with my 15-month-old nephew who gets excited everytime it comes on! lol Unfortunatley, they don't air Unpaved anymroe. sad

Judging from the arrangement of Send One Your Love (instrumental) now I can really see Overjoyed being on Secret Life of Plants.

Motown will probably issue 2 or 3 songs on each Stevie Greatest Hits collection they release for the next thousand years. "New Songs! Alternate Mixes! You must have this in your collection, even though you've bought 95% of it already!".

Journey more so than Circle, but I can still understand why he did what he did.

"Soul Train.....where all the brothers and sisters get together..HEEEEEYYYYY..where all the brothers and sisters get together....."

You could truly tell Stevie in the zone back in them days...THAT was some of the most beautiful melodies I have EVER heard..and Stevie was just there making this song up on the spot.....He should have put THAT song out as a B-side to one of his singles. Call it "Stevie's Soul Train Theme"or something like that....Some truly beautiful chords and stuff he was playing..AND he put a vocal on that baby to end all vocals!!!! He reached in his gospel/church bag for that impromptu song.
