....Lenny's album isn't absolutely horrible, but he seems to have run out of ideas. It's almost like he recorded under literal gun.....he would have been better served to take a couple of years and get some more solid tunes together.....I'm one of the biggest Prince fans ever, but Rolling Stone is starting to scare me with their constant promotion of Prince...I'm wondering what dark alliance was made for this..they didn't do all that for the great Dirty Mind....I've never watched american idol and i'm glad it's over.how did a talent contest become the biggest thing on the planet and wher did all these racial undertones come from??....I'm really gonna mis the show Soul Food.I was disappointed w/the last episode,too..seemed very rushed and like it wasn't even written or directed by the same ppl...what the hellw as the point of Mario Van Peebles being on there and then doing nothing w/the character/?....i can watch the movie Old School countless times....thomas dolby's "the keys to her ferrari" gives me a kick...the cameo anthology is necessary...i bought thedeluxe edition of street songs by rick james..very cool stuff and a soundboard concert included!!..jay-z's Black Album isn't as good as the remix albums....i bought the best of george michael coz i had to hear george's Camille impersonation on Hard Day and the 90's model anthem,"too funky".....los amigos invisibles cd is some smoove ass poolside shit in an mp3 player....you haveta' get omar's Best By Far...i can't wait to get Velvet Revolver....african herbsman by bob marley...kaya version 2 is the shit!!...rad has cool cuts on instinct records compilations, bosso brava and new vouices take 2..."my love is forever" is the sweetest, funkiest jam ...I almost wish Prince could revisit that mindset of For You and just make a really simple, beautiful record like that...he sounds so innocent..his falsetto soars so purely..the album sounds like you're floating on a cloud and just for a little badness you sneak a swig of your mom's cooking sherry...I don't care what you say.. bubble baths are cool...a kiss is more special than we realize...i think roy jones,jr will come back w/ a vengeance now and whoop the shit outta someone....u2 is ...great..peace.

I'm gonna do a "Vibe 20-Questions"-type thing lol

***When is Motown gonna stop releasing countless compilations, and just remaster the actual albums?? Classic albums by Rick James,The Commodores,The Temptations,Teena Marie and others have yet to make their CD debut.

***Doesn't the success of Prince's 'Musicology' CD and Teena Marie's 'LaDona' CD prove that major record labels are still necessary if you want to have some level of commercial success? Chaka, are you listening?

***Am I the only one who has stopped waiting for a new Lauryn Hill CD? Don't get me wrong,I'm still a fan,but at this point,it's not really that important for me to hear new music from her.Odd,isn't it?

***Isn't Outkast's "Roses" video the best reason to watch MTV these days?

***And btw,who is that sexy "Caroline" who stars in the video? Yum yum! wink

***Isn't it a shame that Lionel Richie can't seem to write a good song anymore? His new CD is terrible.

***Did Jay-Z REALLY retire? I heard that he just recorded two new songs with J-Lo for her new CD.

***Whatever happened to the big "superstar duet"? You know, the days when a major artist would record a song with another major artist (think "The Girl Is Mine" by MJ and Paul McCartney)? Don't see too many of those anymore.

***Since Madonna uses video footage of Missy during the 're-Invention Tour',don't you kinda wonder....why isn't Missy opening for Madonna on this tour? That would be a great show.

***Aren't you tired of famous people who come out of nowhere and are suddenly "celebrities"? I'm talking about annoying,no-talent fools like Paris Hilton,Nicole Richie, etc.

***Don't you kinda wish Sheila E. could make a comeback with a superb pop album?

***Why do so many R&B artists take so long to make new albums? D'Angelo,Eric Benet,Jill Scott, etc.

***Should we be thrilled or nonchalant that 'American Bandstand' is coming back to TV next year?

***And shouldn't 'Soul Train' have been cancelled about a decade ago?

***Isn't it disappointing that Quincy Jones' next CD is most likely gonna be yet another commercial,over-produced,bloated affair featuring everyone from R.Kelly,Snoop and Dr.Dre to Justin Timberlake? And isn't he a little too old for this??

***Speaking of R.Kelly...why does his latest single "Happy People" sound just like his LAST big hit "Step In The Name Of Love"?

***And,are we REALLY looking forward to that Charlie Wilson solo CD,produced by R.Kelly?

***Am I the only one who's getting sick of Beyonce's song "Naughty Girl"? It's arguably the weakest single she has ever put out.

***Whatever happened to Sugar Ray?

***Wouldn't it be cool if Diana Ross could make a comeback, with a fun, poppy, dance album?

I agree with you on everything. But I heard that there is a new album of old songs by Quincy coming out.Like stuff that was sorta rare. That might be cool. And Jay-Z ...mmm.. I don't know. He has 3 new songs out on some mix tape cd I hear from my connection to the underground hip hop scene and I just can't see him completely retiring. He is too much in his prime. Maybe the "Jay-Z" personae and he'll just record different style raps under his real name. I am excited because I hear that Talib Kweli and Mos Def have 2 new cd's coming. Whatever happened to Mos Def's rock band cd? That was supposed to come out about 2 years ago. I got some stuff live I downloaded, but I was really looking forward to that.

You guys all have some great ideas. Let me just "answer" to the best of my ability one of the questions posed by Davideye.

"***Whatever happened to the big "superstar duet"? You know, the days when a major artist would record a song with another major artist (think "The Girl Is Mine" by MJ and Paul McCartney)? Don't see too many of those anymore."

Four words. Whitney Houston Mariah Carey. Despite all the build up hype for "When You Believe" (hype that started years before the deut was even an idea) the result was a very nice song for non-Disney animated movie no one cared about. The song did Ok on the charts (Top 30 in America, I believe) but absolutely did not live up to the hype. It was also probably too costly and not worth it. I miss the idea of the superstar duet more than the actual superstar duet in action (seriously, is "Endless Love" a great song?).

Yeah,I totally agree with you."When You Believe" received alot of hype, but unfortunately, the song came and went without leaving a trace. It was a big, bland Babyface ballad that just didn't live up to the hype. The same also applies to the mid-90s Barbra Streisand/Celine Dion duet "Tell Him",another heavily-hyped superstar duet that nobody even remembers.
