George Micheal and his songs

My mother happened to purchase a CD called "Ladies and Gentlemens: The best of George Micheal" and she also, brought me the album "Musiciology". smile Anway, when I asked if I borrow 2 listen, she said yes. So I listened 2 it. The songs I remember from my childhood, was "Father figure" , "Cowboys and Angels" , "Kissing a fool" , and "One more try", as well as other songs.

The ones that are mentioned are my favorite. I can't help but notice his songs. His music truly spoke 2 my soul. LOL Also, he's very handsome....too bad he wasn't interested in girls. LOL

What was your favorite song if his and Y??? Thanks, U'll!! grouphug

(P.S: Prince's new album totally ROCKS!!! giggle I like his album alot)

Mothers Pride- a song about the cost of war..very relavent today
Different corner- a love song from his Wham days
Round here- from the new album..it is pretty damn good( the whole album)
They won't go when I go- a Stevie Wonder cover that he does justice
I doesn't really matter- A groovey love song
Hand to mouth- a nice social commentary song
Praying for time- which is on that greatist hits you now have

He's a good artist, he is also good at being truthful in his music which is why alot of people still feel him, Get Listen Without Prejiduce Vol1 it is his best album, because he finally came out of his closet...

"Hand to mouth"- I love the line about the Gods believing in nothing or something like that, have to dig album out again soon!

Loved "I want yuor sex"-very Princey
"Father figure"-Gorgeous song
"Monkey"-very funky/funny
"Praying 4 time"-good words, great atmosphere
"freeeeek"- yep, I love that song, 'Your one fuck fantasy'-gotta love that line right!

"Listen without..." album is very sombre and quite depressing really, though "Heal the pain" is a lovely song! Was he out of the closet by this song, I'm not to sure, not that I'll interpretate it different though! It could very well be either, like MJ's "Human nature"!

You should pick up his latest "Patience". Its been out in Europe for a while (had to buy mine on import 'cuz I got sick of waiting), but it just got a domestic release. Its quite good.

Actually, a little of both. It has more upbeat songs that Older, but the trademark ballads are still there in full force. It actually took me a few listens to really sink in how good it actually is.

Lots of good dance tunes like "Amazing" and "Freeek 04" (I admit, I never heard the original version of "Freeek" so I don't know how it compares, but I love this one!)

When you bare your soul..it is pretty sombre. This is the album right after Boy George outed him, and he wouldn't do videos anymore. There are some jams on here..but it is a deep album. Kinda like John Lennons first solo..very raw, and thoughtful. It helped me through my first year of high school..and the hell that it was.

GM didn't officially come out of the closet until his arrest in 1998. As you said, Boy George outed him as being bisexual (which GM still thought of himself as at that time), but that was taken with a grain of salt, since so many outings by Boy that weren't entirely accurate. Boy primarily did it to ruffle feathers.

George Michael is so hot! And I've been a fan since Wham!- in 5th grade I wanted so bad fingerless neon gloves and bleeched blond hair and my mom was like "Oh No! You Arn't!"

I hope he'll tour soon for "Patience" I'll be the queen down front SCREAMING my head off! I'll be one of those whores who throw their underware on stage cuz I love me some George! LOL

Favs:
01 John and Elvis Are Dead
02 Cars and Trains
03 Entire "Songs from the Last Century" CD - Love his cover of "Roxanne"
04 Jesus to a Child
05 Cowboys and Angels

I really love him for his slower songs. I don't really like George when he's funky- that "Freek" video where he is dressed up like a robot is wrong! But he can sing me "I Can't Make You Love Me" anytime! love
Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

You are so cute!!!!

The first time I ever saw George was on the "Faith" tour. Me & a buddy camped out to get tickets, and landed 8th row center. All our female friends were so jealous at the time! Several of them were like "why do you need to see him so close? You're straight! You should give the ticket to me!" lol Well, we wanted to SEE THE SHOW, and HEAR THE MUSIC!!! Anyhoo, your post just reminded me of those days. Good times, for sure!

That's a really good double-CD! clapping

My fav. is probably a toss-up between "Father Figure" and "Careless Whisper"

"FF"-because of the echo-ing vocals on the track and I love the chord arrangment of the part after the bridge...

"...and love can't lie, no...
(greet me with the eyes of a child)
my love is always telling me so...
(heaven is a kiss and a smile)
just hold on, hold on
I won't let you go, my baby

"Careless Whisper"-I remember watching the video when I was younger and it's just one of those nice ballads from the 80s that always stuck with me. music

Patience is pretty damn good
except it has about 4 clunkers
evenly spaced out
so you get a few good songs then clunk.
Then a couple of good songs and then clunk.
You have to program the songs to really appreciate it.
It takes some patience.
hehehehe lol
