thumbs up here. Good song and good album, too. If you listen to the album a few times, the rest of the songs sink in and several are just as memorable as "Thing Called Love".

I listened to the samples they had on Amazon & one or two sound like they could be cool. Don't know if I'll be buying the whole album, but I may pay to d/l a few cuts smile

With all of the excellent real metal bands that have been recording real music for the past decade (all that have been unheard of from the mainstream), we get "The Darkness"...the "Spinal Tap" of the new century.
It is sad how a band like this gets mainstream video and airplay but a talented band like Anthrax for example, (who's most recent cd "We've Come For You All" - their best work ever) does not.
The cheesiest metal band of the 80's (which ever band that may have been) isn't even half as bad as The Darkness.

Maybe they watched Velvet Goldmine & got inspired lol I dunno, I just like it. It jumps out at you - nobody else is doing cheesy glam rock these days (@ least not that I know of) so it's "fresh" in a not fresh at all kind of way lol

Yeah, i went through that phase. i kept it on repeat for awhile and i played it for days, then i got tired of it, but still like it. It doesnt remind me of Queen. They can never be as close.

Yes, Freddie Mercury had a great voice. This guy really can't sing. Oh, I find the song catchy, but I can't hear too much of it. After a while it gets REAL old!!

The album is disappointing, but I believe... is a great, fun track. I love their videos - they crack me the fuck up. Justin's forever wiggling his ass around to the beat and making ridiculous gestures to the camera.

Great performers live too, when they bother.

it is not his voice, but the guitar sound...They really ripped it of Brian May's way of guitar playing...Nobody can beat Queen, that I agree, but they are really copying it!!

As 4 'ripping off' Queen - it's more of an homage actually - the guys in the band LOVE Queen, amongst other bands - Brian May was even at one of their recent london shows.

The thing is, people outside of England don't always seem 2 'get' irony. Maybe it's a translational thing - I dont 'get' a lot of the american comedy TV shows like friends (like WTF was THAT all about?!?!)

Besides, as of a few days ago they were awarded one of the highest accolades in the music industry - an Ivor Novello award 4 songwriters of the year.

U dont have 2 like it, but lighten up 4 fucks sake! It's just supposed 2 be a little fun.
